“High End Seafood in Venice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

Venice is not known for it's food. However Osteria alle Testiere should be getting talked up more. This could have been the best prepared and matched seafood meal we have ever had. Service was great. Two seating, 7pm and 9pm, we say at early seating but were never rushed. Linguine and clams was superb.

“Favourite of this trip, so far.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

Really, really liked this place. Restaurant is set up very well – good waiting staff and place has a very pleasant and professional feel to it.

Had the grilled razor clams and we shared a plate of grilled fish and prawn. We had a glass of prosecco to start which had tiny almost invisible bubbles which explode in your mouth.

Didn't want a desert but couldn't refuse once we hear what they had. A number of appealing options.

Would I go back? In a shot! Loved it.

“Outstanding”

After reading a review by Nick Lander we booked here for dinner... It's a tiny restaurant, which has two seatings, we could only get in at the second at 9.30pm, but frankly I'd go any time of the day or night they'll let you in. Easily the best food I've ever eaten in Venice, charming atmosphere, excellent service, great wine list. Over a month later I am still craving the pasta with monkfish cheeks... Trust your waiter's recommendations and the catch of the day. Two very rare events pay tribute to how special this restaurant is - first, when the very large bill arrived, my husband said it was worth it, and secondly, we bought not one but two cookbooks! Don't miss it.

“"outstanding food, excellent service, cozy ambiance"”

From the moment we were greeted by the owner, the six of us knew we were in for a treat!
We were served outstanding seafood which is personally selected each day at the the local market for quality and freshness and is accompanied by very fine wines. I'm a tiramisu "addict" and this was the finest I'd ever eaten with just the right balance of mascarpone, coffee, chocolate etc.
The service was excellent and attentive and although there are only 2 seatings per evening (allotted 2.5 hours), we did not feel rushed. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

We did a tour of Venetian eateries largely based on Russell Norman's cook book "Polpo", most were great bars (bacari) serving cichetti which we adored but this was first class fine dining (priced accordingly), he said in this weeks FT magazine this is one of his favourite restaurants & it was easy to see why.

Exemplary service, great fresh produce (primarily seafood) cooked with a light, respectful touch to perfection.

We found the service charming & efficient which with the excellent food made for a really enjoyable dinner that more than compensated for the aqua alta we waded through in the morning. (note to self; time next trip to avoid a full moon)

By coincidence my wife on seeing 3 trendy types arrive last Saturday was convinced one was the aforementioned R.N. ... fortunately a positive identification wasn't agreed with the staff until R.N. had left to prepare for his marathon the next morning thus avoiding any embarassment all round)

If you like seafood cooked perfectly in pleasant surroundings i think you'd enjoy this restaurant
