Trying to get around Venice and being frustrated at my lack of map reading skills, I walked past and thought maybe I could go back for a glass of prosecco. Ended up having the best calzone I've ever had. And some salad nicose, admittedly not traditionally italian but eqully great. The service was good too and very good value for money as venice is very pricey ayway.
I will definately eat here again but maybe not have so much prosecco

Really enjoyed the atmosphere here and was pleased to see the restaurant occupied primarily by local Italian workers. Ae Oche restaurants have a separate menu for those who lunch with them frequently which always makes visitors feel a little discomfited. The staff here did nothing to alleviate this feeling.
Although there is outdoor seating, we chose to sit inside. The decor is very 'American baseball' and 'warehouse' and the atmosphere, for us, very agreeable. I ordered a Napoli pizza with extra fresh garlic and was not disappointed. Both our pizzas were excellent.
The bill for two pizzas, 1/4 litre of red wine, a large bottle of water and two espressos came to 21.5 euros. It was actually more but we noticed they'd sneaked in a 'dolce' which they removed once we brought it to their attention.
It's worth popping in here for a pizza or a pasta...but you need to be alert!

We were recommended to come here by our B&B, also told we would get a 10% discount if we showed the B&Bs card. We were sceptical but TripAdvisor reviews were good so we tried it out.
We were seated outside and ordered pizzas and house wine. Pizza was great and the wine was fantastic value and was incredibly drinkable! So much so we had another carafe.
However we waited ages for the waiter to clear the table and so we finally just asked for the bill. We had forgotten our 10% discount (probably all the wine) so we we informed our waiter he said fine and took the bill away. Another waiter came back and said we couldn't use the discount card after we had asked for the bill. Fine, we should have done that, but I think it's really not much of a problem to void a transaction and start a new one. We felt the reason wasn't good enough but didn't argue the case.
Good food and wine but the service let this place down. We would have left 10% or more tip if we had the discount (making it the same price anyway) but because of the way it was explained to us we left no tip.

Ate here courtesy info given in a loney planet guide. It's off the beaten track and not in the hub of tourist activity. It was full on a weeknight, mostly with locals, which is a great indicator of the food that was to follow.
In hindsight, I should have ordered the pizza as my wife's selection was delicious. The sausage gnocchi I ordered was good, but a little too bland for my palate. The starter of fried olives stuffed with meat was interesting, and pretty good. Our meal, along with a drink each cost us around 32euros (for 2) which is a bargain for great food in Venice.

We ate a caprice (?) pizza which has a melted mozzarella as a base and then fresh tomatoes and sliced mozzarella balls and basil and for the second main we ordered squid ink and fresh chopped squid with polenta which was exactly what we ordered but much bigger than we expected, a huge portion of squid for the price!!! The service is great, and the staff are so friendly! best of all there was no rush for us to finish our meal, we dined at our leisure with a gorgeous view of the Giudecca canal and the Giudecca island, so definitely choose to sit outside. Around this area, the tourist to locals ratio is much lower so it's much less crowded than in the saint marks square area. A highly recommended restaurant for a taste of Venice in true Venetian atmosphere.
