Pros: Very modern rooms, well suited for a couple without kids, good breakfast, good location (although front door access is only possible by water taxi unless you want to approach via the back door by way of a very long, very narrow alley, with bird droppings.)

Cons: Not worth the $700 per night that we paid for a Junior Suite. Small children are not welcome as the hotel will not put a small roll-away bed - even in a Suite. My daughter slept on the firm chaise, and my 4-year old slept in our bed. The bed is very firm. After agreeing to pay the $160/night extra charge for having the kids in our Suite (with no extra bed), we were scolded and embarrassed in the main lobby about our choice of booking one Suite for 2 adults and 2 small children on-line without calling the hotel first.
Also, we only had hot water 1 out of 3 days.

Room Tip: When booking a trip to Venice with 2 small kids, get an apartment. Even the 4 and 5- star hotels don't allow more than one kid in the room.

We went to Venezia for the Biennale and wanted a convenient and nice hotel. Palazzo Barbarigo was a good choice as it is well located and is reached in 30mn water taxi from rhe airport. The room we had is really as can be seen in the picture. Very nice design for this boutique hotel, but the room was a bit small. The service was fine and restaurant recommendations for example worked well for us. Quality breakfast in the morning, served at the 1st floor. There is also a bar, but which closes early.
Finally, hotel is very close from a convenient vaporetto stop.
Overall, I truly recommend this hotel, which seemed goodvalue for money for Venice at c.300€ per night including breakfasts.

Room Tip: First floor close to the canal

Very welcoming & helpful staff. Charming interior decoration. Romantic setting! I would highly recommend it. Nice location on Canale Grande. A room on the first floor with a view on Canale Grande is recommended. Cosy breakfast room.

Room Tip: Room with a view on Canale Grande, on the first floor.

Excellent location, positioned between Rialto and San Marco, easily accessible to both by foot or vaporetto. Exiting from the back of the hotel via an extremely narrow lane leads to interesting squares full of shops and reasonably priced restaurants. The hotel is wonderfully stylish and while a bit dark in places, exudes wall to wall style. However, the bathrooms could do with better lighting. Bedlinen and towels were changed every day (perhaps not best energy use). Breakfast was sumptuous (fresh fruit, fruit juice, hams and cheeses, toast and jams, pastries) and kept us going till late afternoon. Above all, all the staff were extremely hospitable and friendly. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day and the bed was very comfortable.

Room Tip: If you want a Grand Canal view you must request a Junior suite. We did not know this at the time of booking. However, we have no complaints with our room and the Grand Canal is never far from view!

Wonderful views of the Grand Canal from the Junior Suites at the front - very stylish, dark rooms which just give emphasis to the drama and colour outside. You must arrive by water taxi – it is very special and worth the money to sweep up in style. Breakfast on the small balcony from the bar is reserved for Suite 10; other guests can use it at all other times but it is great to be able to have breakfast there.
