We stayed at B&B Diamante at the very end of a backpacking journey around Europe as we couldn't find a hostel... I don't think we could have stayed in a better place if we tried! We stayed in the 'Relax' room, which enormous and had a jacuzzi and two sofas. A touch difficult to find, but everyone gets lost in Venice once - if you head the Rialto Bridge it is pretty easy from there. We arrived from Budapest by night train at 7am, and amazingly our room was ready for us already! The place is spotless and really well located, only 5 minutes from San Marco square. Breakfast was basic (mostly bread-based) but free and delivered to your door. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here, the standards are that of a 5 star hotel, for 1 star prices, you won't find a better deal in Venice... STAY HERE!!!

We've been there on january 2008 just at the beginning of the Venice carnaval.

First impression when you look at the website, it looks like a hotel but it is a bed & breakfast with very nice designed decoration !!!
We arrived at the B&B at 10PM and this doesn't seem to be a problem whereas for most of B&B they allow you to arrive until 8PM

The location is really perfect 5min walking to the Rialto bridge and maybe 10min (no more) from San Marco place.

You can also pay by credit card which is really convenient.

For the breakfast, they ask you the day before what time you wanna take it and they directly bring it inside your room in the morning... really nice !!!
I fully recommand it !!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Diamante for 4 nights on our honeymoon. We arrived late in the day at about 9:00 PM and had no trouble finding the door to the hotel, though without the picture of the door it would have been very hard as there is no signage outside whatsoever. The signora who was on duty for the majority of the time (I do not remember her name) was very polite and though she spoke no english, I managed to get by with my basic Italian. The front door is locked at all times, but your room key includes a key to the front door so you can come and go as you wish. We had the room that is featured on their website, the one with the orange bedspread. The room itself was quite nice, though it had one of the smallest toilets that I have ever seen, it was comical actually. Gripes: the TV is only local channels, there is no internet access on premises and no phone in the room. Excellent things: Our room was superb in that it was wonderfully soundproofed so that we were never bothered by the noise from outside or from the other guests in the B and B. Breakfast was good, though it gets a little monotonous. Bottom line: if you want a nice room that provides all of the basics, then this is the place for you. Besides, you shouldn't be in the room that much anyway, you are in Venice, get out and get lost.

After a tiresome journey all the way from Florence with backpacks we finally found this place tucked away rather anonymously in a corner. There was no-one there to meet us but luckily we were able to get in via some guests staying there. After phoning the owner asking how we could check in he claimed we hadn't made a booking. We could prove we had from the email we had with us confirming the booking over a month before. He sent a lady (who we must admit was very helpful) to try and sort things out. She eventually found us somewhere else to stay- Pensione Guerrato on the other side of the canal- which in the end we found had far more character and was 30 euros cheaper per night than Diamante. Despite these benefits the inconvenience was not appreciated and the owner had little regard for the amount of stress his mistake had caused us as well as the time it cost us. We only had one day to see Venice and the vacancy found for us was only for one night, meaning we had to use some of this time moving hotels for the second night. Stay somewhere more reliable as we have since heard this has happened before at the same place.
