This is a good hotel with good standards of food, an excellent position, fantastic rooms and beautiful public areas. It just misses on atmosphere, otherwise it is excellent. It is in a really good position to explore the attractions of Venice.

We recently returned from our 5th trip to Venice and our second stay at this beautiful hotel.
As return guests we had an upgrade to a room facing the Grand Canal and were escorted there by the Concierge. The rooms at this hotel are luxurious, the housekeeping superb and a wealth of choice at breakfast, where classical music accompanies your meal.
We had a note of welcome and a bowl of fruit on arrival in the room and another on the evening before our departure.
The staff are efficient, polite and friendly and having found this lovely place we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in this fabulous, unique city.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Grand Canal have fabulous views which more than compensate for a little traffi...

We had a wonderful stay in this 14th century authentic palazzo facing the Grand Canal. The hotel is in great condition, rooms are spacious and exquisitely decorated and with a touch of luxury, bed is comfortable to sleep, a/c is working well, bathroom is immaculate. It is hard to believe the building is almost 700 hundred years old (unlike some shabby locations in Venice). Hotel is located two minutes walk from Ca d'Oro vaporetto station which is convenient if you use water transport when tired. Walk to San Marco is circa 20 minutes and to Rialto circa 5 minutes. It is a lively area around with shops, cafe and number of attractions. I recommend El Pasador restaurant which is just across Rialto bridge (there's also a traghetto, or ferry service by gondola right next to hotel which gets you to the other side in two minutes for 2 Euro).

We stayed on the 3rd floor facing the Grand Canal and the view to wake up in the morning is splendid. The best experience, apart for the room, was the breakfast in the breakfast hall with the murals and the original frescos on the ceiling. As we were told, the was just a bit of restoration done to the rooms and even the doors stay original. Yet there's a feeling of a freshness to the whole thing.

We arrived early and couldn't get an early check in as the hotel was fully booked. The staff at the reception is very helpful albeit some of them were defensive for some reason. That a bit spoiled the cool ambiance of being a doge's guest in his grand palazzo. However, in general it is very good service. For instance, the barman himself made us a salad late at night when the cook has already left. Also we were offered a free tour to the Rialto fish market with the hotel's chef Michele who explained various things about splendid variety of fresh catch offered on the counters.

So in general I highly recommend this hotel even though some of the staff could benefit from the professional training.

Room Tip: The best are the rooms facing Grand Canal.

I stayed 5 nights at the Ca'Sagredo in mid-November after 2 back-to-back cruises on the Splendor of the Seas. Initially, I expected the hotel to be restful and charming, but probably a slight letdown as I was staying in the Royal Suite of the Splendor. However, I was pleasantly surprised that other than lacking a superbly tuned baby grand piano and an expansive ocean view, my suite at the Ca'Sagredo measured up astonishingly well. In fact, personally I find the views of the Grand Canal from my balcony and from the private roof top terrace more mesmerizing than the ocean views from the Splendor.

Under the meticulous stewardship of General Manager Lorenza Lain, the hotel has become one of the finest hotels in the world. The staff, from Guest Relations director Elisabetta Scibilia, to Reception Manager Raffaele Lo Mastro, to Laura, Danio, Steven and Monica are as friendly, attentive as they are highly competent and efficient. Then there are Adriana, Bruna, Maria Grazie and Rodica who made every breakfast an absolute delight. On my last day there, Adriana even took time to give me and another Welch couple a tour of the facility.

The location is extremely convenient as the Ca' d'Oro vaporetto stop is about 50 feet away. The Ca' d'Oro Palazzo, literally the finest example of Venetian Gothic architecture in the city, is one building away. Inside the Ca' d'Oro, you can find Carpaccio's brilliant The Annunciation (1504) as well as Andrea Mantegna's St. Sebastian (1506) plus scores of other paintings and sculptures. The Grom Gelato shop is but half a block away (right next to the McDonalds). The Rialto Market is right across the canal. And there are many great restaurants within 1 and 2 blocks.

Before this stay in Venice, I was lamenting about the Gritti closing for renovation, compelling me to look for an alternative hotel. Little did I know that I would discover another gem, the Ca'Sagredo, that's equally enchanting and less pretentious.

Room Tip: The historic suites, Sebastino Ricci, Libray and Presidental in particular, with balcony facing the...

Just back from a wonderful 3 night stay at this lovely hotel. All the staff were outstanding, and were very helpful in booking an excellent local restaurant for one evening, with detailed instructions on how to get there!
My standard room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had ample wardrobe and storage space. I loved the big fluffy dressing gowns. The only fault I'd mention was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfasts in the delightful second floor dining rooms were ample and delicious, although the heaters to keep the eggs, bacon and sausages did not keep food piping hot.
I had lunch on my first day, and relished every bite! Although other reviewers stated that meals were expensive, I felt the qualitity and quantity were very reasonable. The ground floor dining room over looked the Grand Canal, and it was a real treat to relax and watch the world go by while enjoying a very good meal.
The hotel picture on TA is probably an old picture, as the platform on the canal now had a fully matured row of small shrubs, providing an enclosed terrace with tables, from which to take drinks and watch the passing boats and gondolas.
The location is outstanding, and literally a 2 minute walk from Ca D'Ora vapporetti stop. Get off the Vap 1, walk directly ahead, turn right at the top of the lane, and then the very first right again.

Room Tip: I had a small out door shared terrace, which although giving no views, was welcomed extra space.

Had a two day break in Ca Sagredo in February this year . . . absolutelty amazing! The hotel is a 16th century palace of the Sagredo family and has been beautifully converted into a canak side hotel.

When we arrived a gentleman on the reception desk gave us a tour of the hotel and all it's finest features. Bedroom was amazing with a stunning view directly out onto the grand canal. Everything you could need including some very fluffy robes which I didn't want to take off! Hotel is extremely clean and fragranced so the occasional 'Venice pong' is avoided while inside.

Breakfast is excellent by any standard, especially for Italy as fulll spread including hot items such as eggs and bacon and also prosecco available so you can start the day as intended! The hostess at breakfast was extremely welcoming and really made sure you had everything you could need.

Location is excellent and Vaporetto stop Ca D'oro is down next alley so really easy to jump on and head off to explore Venice though I would reccommend walking as it is very hard to get lost and that way you get to explore each sub-section of the city.

Overall one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I would reccommend to anyone wanting a luxury break when visiting Venice.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal view, we requested this and had one of the best views in the hotel!

I booked a 3 night stay at Ca'Sagredo Hotel that I purchased on LuxuryLink. We stayed in a junior suite, and the room was very nice -- a combination of old school with silk covering on the wall and period furniture but with plenty of modern amenities. I also separately booked a Sagredo double room for my kids and I am not sure there was much of a idfference -- maybe the junior suite was a tiny bit bigger but not appreciably. Both room, though, were very nice. The rooms did not face the canal but you could see if out the side of the window. The hotel is very conveniently located right by the Ca D'Oro vaporetto stop and an easy walk to the Rialto Bridge. In fact, Venice is not that big, so we pretty much walked all over. Plus, there are lots of good restaurants a short walk from the hotel.

As mentioned in most other reviews, the common rooms are great and anything but common. This really is a palazzo, with the art and architecture built in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is fresh and plentiful, and the hostess/maitre d' at the breakfast ais wonderful. We had one lunch at the hotel and it was very nice but very expensive. Finally, when we mentioned we were thinking of going to Murano and asking for directions, the hotel arranged for a private water taxi to pick us up and take us back to the hotel and a private tour at AV Mazzega -- it was great and there was no obligation to buy anything and no pressure to do so (and in fact we did not buy anything). Good time had by all.

.

Small points if being really picky. More as suggestion to management for perfecting.
Prices in the bar are own the high side and probably explains why the bar was empty. 8 euros for a glass if 'good but normal' red wine is a bit over the top.
