From the time we climbed out of the water taxi to the private dock until we reluctantly left two nights later, we loved the Ca'Sagredo. Although the lobby is a little disappointing, head up the stairs and you are transported back in time to a Venetian Palazzo filled with statues and beautiful artwork. We stayed in a Sagredo Suite, which had a small sitting room open to the bedroom. We threw open the shades and had a magical view of the Grand Canal. The location is perfect...slightly away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk to all the attractions of Venice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Grand Canal.

If you've traveled to Venice, then you know that most hotels have small rooms at high prices and unless your hotel has a private dock on a canal, you will be hauling your luggage from a drop off point to the hotel. Ca'Sagredo has a private dock and very large rooms in all room categories. The staff is friendly and provides excellent services. The hotel is an artistic treasure. A converted palazzo with marble staircases and masterful artwork on walls and ceilings. Located directly across the grand canal from the rialto market, it has a gondola dock on the left and the Ca D'Oro water bus stop one block to the right. Best possible location. You can cross the canal by boat for 2 euros and be at rialto bridge in less than 5 minutes. Or, you can walk out your hotel door and walk anywhere in Venice in minutes. We stayed in a suite overlooking the canal. Large bedroorm with large sitting area, large bath, plus another sitting room/living room. You would pay 4 to 5 times the price for this accomodation in one of Venice's famous hotels. If you are going to Venice, this is the place to stay.

Ca'Sagredo is a beautiful small boutique hotel with outstanding service. It is well maintained and very clean. You feel like you are staying in a Grand Mansion. The staircase leading up stairs is grand and you feel like you are entering a grand event hundreds of years ago every time you come down them. The service is excellent, they help you at every turn. This is a charming place to stay and exactly what I thought of when I thought of Venice and what it would be like to go there. We stayed in the Library Suite which was elegant and well done. Rooms in Venice are small so you have to understand that when going but they have maximized the space to make it feel much larger. I would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: The Library Suite was a great room choice. It was quiet, comfortable and beautiful.

Hotel is a renovated historical old palace on the Grand Canal directly across from the Rialto fish market. Because its on the Grand Canal, you don't have to carry luggage through the streets of Venice to reach your hotel (which many people have to do). Great Central location without being too central. A 10+ minute walk to St. Mark's Square and no more than 5 minutes to the Rialto bridge. Large rooms - ours was a corner room directly on the Grand Canal. Good personal service from the staff.

This hotels is away from the crowds but close to the main attractions .It is a short walk to the Rialto bridge. We had a room on the first floor with a bath and 1/2 and a canal view. Was a little on the noisy side because of the vapperetto stop. The breakfast area is in an area decorated with frescos from the Palazzo days. The whole second floor (first floor in Italy) is also decorated in the original Pallazzo style. The breakfast is ample with excellent service.

Room Tip: If you are coming from the airport take the motor boat .Get your ticket after you get your baggage.T...

I can't say enough good about our experience at the Ca' Sagredo last week. It's a delightful hotel with wonderful, wonderful service. Full of charm. Large, comfortable rooms. And they couldn't have done more to make our visit go smoothly -- no mean feat when you note that there were 10 of us!
The hotel is a bit off the beaten path, which we'd wanted -- not liking the chaos around the main tourist area. But it's right next to a water bus stop and a water taxi stand on the Grand Canal, and we were only 10-15 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco.
Ask for a room overlooking the canal or the square next to the hotel -- although our room overlooking the inner courtyard wasn't bad, just not as good as the others.
I would definitely stay there again.

We were very tired when we arrived here after our wonderful trip on the Orient Express. I had read the reviews and wondered if it would come up to expectations! I have to say it exceeded them. Such a beautiful old building with wonderful frescoes, venetion glasa chandeliers and beautiful gilding. Our room was huge and luxurious with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and a marble bathroom with a tv in it and with three windows onto the piazza. If you looked right you could see the Grand Canal and the gondola stop. Look left and you were looking on to the Strada Nova. The location was perfect, away from noisy San Marco. Our champage breakfasts were 1st class and Bruna, who looked after us, was very friendly and charming, always smiling and welcoming. The music room, where they hold wedding receptions was stunning, with Andrea Bocelli playing, it was so romantic. As you can see I can't praise this hotel enough. If you go to Venice and can afford it you must stay here, you will not be dissappointed. They were also kind enough to give us a bottle of champage for our anniversary.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. Some don't.
