Hotel Dalla Mora is a small but very clean and comfortable hotel. It's in a walking distance from the train station and the main attractions of Venice - the Rialto bridge and San Marco square. Francesco, the owner and the person who checked us in, was just great! He answered all our numerous questions patiently and gave us a lot of advice on where to eat or where to go. Our room had a great view to the canal and all night through we could hear the sounds of the lagoon waves and the serenades by the gondoliers - we enjoyed it greatly! By the way, we were warned that water becomes stinky in summer, nothing of that kind! When booking the room, pay attention to the bathroom facilities as some of the rooms have shared bathrooms. The breakfast was not that good but that's all you get in most of the Italian hotels - coffee, bread or croissants with jam/honey/butter - just a small bite before you get out to the city and enjoy yourself in great Italian cafes! Don't miss the chance to taste tiramisou - the special Venetian dessert!

The hotels in venice are normally very expensive, but it was a surprise to find Hotel Dalla Mora which is very affordable. The rooms are refurbished and very clean. Our room had view to the canal and was very quiet.

The hotel is very close to the train station and also to the main streets of venice. It's a great value and the receptionist were very helpful.

We wanted a budget place to stay in while on the island by the canal. This hotel was a real great choice. Easy to find and 10 minutes walk from the train station. Quiet and good location. Checking in was a breeze (hotel was fully booked) and we got a room on the first floor in the building next to the reception area. Our windows overlook a small canal with construction going on opposite during our stay. It was okay as we were out mostly during the day.

Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. There was a large wash basin, plenty of shelves and cupboards, a large double bed and a stand fan. The shared bathroom was just right outside our room and there were four rooms on our floor. Breakfast in a small breakfast room was rather crowded but food was adequate with a limited selection.

The only real setback for us was that there is no air conditioning unit in the room. Also, the Wi-Fi Internet connection was not working in our building then. We had to use the one at the reception area. And the hotel being fully occupied, there is usually a wait to use the shared toilet in the morning.

We stayed for 3 days and explored the main island only. We walked everywhere and took the vaporetto once down the grand canal for a short "cruise". It was nicer to get lost in the small lanes by foot and always managing to find our way back to the hotel. And there are plenty of eateries nearby.

stayed here for three nights in late october. for venice this is a great find if you are looking for a budget hotel that is clean and well run. the rooms are simple, the beds were really comfortable though and everything was refurbished and extremely clean. they honoured our reservation which seems to be a big deal for venice, no problems with lost bookings or last minute changes etc. good communication from the owners. the location is great in my opinion, away from the hassle of san marco but walking distance to the all the sights and the more interesting parts of venice. we could sit on the little terrace by the canal where we drank wine after our long walks. the only downside is that there is no a/c which could be a huge deal in the summer and no screens on the windows (mosquito alert). i don't know how that pans out in the hotter months. but all in all, a lovely little budget pension run by caring owners who had the guests interests at heart.

Venice hotels are terribly expensive, and so it was a relief to find the Hotel Dalla Mora. We stayed at the very end of October and had a comfortable canal view double room with a shared bath, free in-room WiFi, and included continental breakfast for 85E. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We never had to wait to use the bath. The location was good - a short walk from the train station, although you do have to be prepared to tote your suitcase up and down a couple of the bridges across canals. Hotel Dalla Mora was a good home base that allowed us to use our time effectively to explore Venice on foot. While in Venice, do buy a Vaporetto pass and ride those boats as much as you can.

Room Tip: ask for a canal view room

We stayed here for 3 nights in late September. We booked the double room with ensuite overlooking the canal. The bedroom was basic, with a large bed and 2 wardrobes, and the bathroom was small but had everything we needed (including a bidet) - plus clean towels changed daily. There was a hair dryer available in reception and some good guide books to borrow. The great thing about the hotel was the location - about 5-10 minutes walk to Piazzal Roma - where the airport buses pickup/drop off, and equidistant walk to San Marco (about 20 min brisk walk) via either Rialto or the Accademie Bridges. The continental breakfast was adequate and the staff friendly and helpful.
A tip - use the mosquito deterrent thingy on the bedroom shelf if you sleep with the window open - it works!

Room Tip: Ask for the room facing the canal - while there was some boat noise, it was lovely to look out on.

We were going on a cruise sailing from Venice and were looking for a hotel to crsh for the one night we were to be in Venice before sailing. I found out about the Dalla Mora from Trip Advisor and other websites and booked a room there.

We were not disappointed. The hotel is found on a little side street off of Fond Minotto. From the Piazzale Roma bus stop, we had to walk up and over just 4 bridges to the hotel and took about 15 minutes to get there.

Our rate was 100€ for a superior double with a private bath and shower and included a continental breakfast for us. The hotel is located in the Santa Croce neighborhood of Venice with many of its rooms overlooking a canal. It is a small hotel, but it served the purpose for our one night stay in Venice.

Francesco and Allesandro met us at the desk and were helpful in checking in and offered to help with our bags. They gave us great advice about Venice.

The room was clean, comfortable, and spartan. The bathroom had a sink, toilet, bidet, and shower stall and they provided a few towels and 2 small bars of soap. There was no shampoo, hair dryer, safe, wash cloths, or other amenities one might find in hotels in the States. But, we were not expecting that here.

For breakfast, they had a selection of breads, coffee, and tea.

The beds were comforatable and it was very quiet. The only noise we heard was an occassional rumble of a boat going by on the canal behind the hotel.

There are several restaurants right around the hotel. We went to Antico Gafaro and had a wonderful meal there that night.

Nearby is a church called Chiesa San Pantalon with an amazing painted celing that should not be missed. A few blocks further is the San Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and Scuola Grande di S. Rocco which had incredible art and sculptures.

They let us leave our bags there the next morning while we explored Venice a bit before heading off to our ship. After we returned, we went back to Piazzale Roma and used the People Mover (monorail) to get to the cruise port.

We would not hesitiate coming back here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a canal view.
