My wife and I stayed here for Carnivale the first weekend in Feb 2013. The hotel is really well placed, close to the Rialto and even closer to the Rialto waterbus stop - perfect for coming from the airport. It's only a short walk (less than 10 minutes) to St Marks.

The hotel is very nicely appointed, decent sized rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Well recommended, and I would definitely stay here again!

The staff at Hotel a La Commedia were fantastic! We were in Venice for Carnavale & they helped us with dinner reservations, gondola rides, printing our easyjet boarding passes....pretty much everything. The service was impeccable. The hotel itself is clean, in a great location & very comfortable. We will definitely go back!

Overall an excellent hotel to stay in. Everything well maintained and in good condition - presumably it had been renovated not too long ago. Good sized bathroom with an excellent shower. Pleasant breakfast room with good choice of food. Staff friendly and helpful. Small but comfortable lounge and bar in the entrance foyer. Bedrooms checked again in the evening and a chocolate treat left (nice touch). only change i would have made is the addition of a feather pillow - i don't like the synthetic ones. As others have said, location is very good - the Rialto is round the corner with the vaporetto and airport waterbus stops, and St. Marks is only a brisk 5 minute walk. Would definitely stay here again.

I have just spent 3 nights at this hotel and the position is just perfect for visiting all the main Venice sights. When we arrived, a couple of hours before check-in time, the room was already clean and ready so we were immediately shown to it, without waiting. We were also offered a welcome drink (a traditional Bellini or a glass of prosecco), although there was no alternative for non-alcohol drinkers, except plain water. The room was quite grand and very richly furnished, with a beautiful marble bathroom (with gold accents, which run throughout the hotel) and a simply gigantic bed which was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was rich in variety and plentiful, with fruit, yoghurt, muesli, croissants and scrambled eggs, cheese etc. The head waiter remembered the way we liked our coffee, without prompting, and served it to us immediately every morning, so the experience was really very pleasant. My only criticism is concerning the Wi Fi service, which is really only available in the communal areas (though that is not specified when you book). Also, you have to log in continuously, and every 24 hours you have to go and ask for a new username and password, and sign for it. I asked why it was so complicated, and the hotel explained that it was due to an anti-terrorism law. Fair enough, but quite annoying.
I would definitely go back to this hotel as I loved the position, right next to the Rialto bridge, and the service, in particular, was excellent and very friendly.

Room Tip: The rooms are all quiet, as there is no traffic in Venice. We were on the 2nd floor, which is handy...

Nice, comfortable and very clean hotel, with excellent location (a few steps from Rialto bridge) to explore city and ride vaporetto or water taxi. Rooms are big with high quality furnitures and a great bathroom. Breakfast choice and service are excellent, reception staff is helpful and informative. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the street. No noise.

My wife took me to Venice for my 65th birhday and what a suprise I got when we arrived at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and very informative. The rooms were lovely and beds great. The hotel is immaculately clean and decor very good. The hotel is located near the Grand Canal and very handy for the Vaparetto Bus. St Marks square is only 10 mins.walk away. The staff arranged for us to go to Murano to visit a glass factory which was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return in the near future. .

We went there for our 5th anniversary just before the carnaval. They gave us a junior suite. Room was perfect and the staff ıs amazing. They made us perfect restaurant recommandations. Such a great location, 30 seconds from the rialto vaporetto stop. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Venice.
