We had hoped for a room with a view of
the canal but despite having booked months in advance, were given a room around the back, facing a small lane. The room itself was clean and comfortable, nothing to fault there. The service however could be improved. Check in is in a building around the corner from the actual B&B. Once this is done they show you to your room, which in our case involved crossing a small bridge with several steps, with our suitcases in tow, then walking up the stairs to the room with the suitcases. The receptionist led the way and saw that we were struggling with the suitcases (even stopping to wait for us to catch up to him at one point) but he did not even offer to help. I guess he figured we should get used to all the bridges and stairs in Venice, but we just thought at least an offer of assistance would have been nice as a matter of courtesy.
Other than that, we had no issues. The place is located in a nice part of the beautiful city of Venice, close to public transport and a number of nice restaurants, but away from the really busy and touristy part of town. A nice place to come back to after a busy day of sightseeing.
