“Film festival!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

I visited Lido during the film festival and it was a pleasure. Having a drink overlooking the beach of Lido and then watching a film was perfect combination. Though busy, no problem to arrive there. All very well organized.

“Lido best explored on a bycycle.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

lido island is a one hour boat trip from the train station, and 20 min boat ride from san marco.A small island with a beautiful beach and a golf coarse.Taxi's are not required in this island, and they charge you a bomb for short distances-the funny part is they charge you for keeping your luggage in the back,i guess italy is the only place on earth which charges a rent for your luggage.
Its best to follow the local people, use cycles. So we hired a bicycle to explore the island. The island is quite a slow place, not much activities. All the action is in venice-san marco.
Their public transport all over venice and its islands is the boats.Very convenient but, they should simplify things so that tourist understand, everything is in italian, may be english and italian would be very helpful for tourist like us to travel around easily.

“Definitely a must stop if you are in Venice for more than a day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

It was a beautiful beach and pretty easily accessible by the water bus - just get a pass when you get there and you can travel around for 24hours or more depending on the duration of the pass you buy
We lounged on the beach for a day because we wanted to get away from the touristy crowd of venice
The love beach was nice with some nice drinks and good music
Try it!

“Wonderful Beach on the Adriatic Sea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

The water is clear, beautiful and mostly warm so you can't resist a refreshing dip. I walked the beach for about two hours and collected a few seashells as souvenirs. Walk through town and have lunch or stop for a gelato.

“Loved my bike ride!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

I spent some time riding around the island on a rental bike ( you can get one for like 15E for the whole day at SME station right of the Vaporetto )! It was a great way to get the lay of the land. There is an Osho center at Rivamare Hotel which has meditations on the beach if you're into that sort of thing (I am!). And the Film Festival in early Sept. is loads of fun, many screenings are open to the public for a fee and you can buy tix online. After 5pm the fancy private beaches mostly won't kick you off their grounds. (Like at Bains, etc.) But during the day you pay a fee for a chair and umbrella. The free beach is fine but a bit crowded, there is a restroom, showers, changing rooms, and food, all for a fee. And down on Murazzi's walk the locals build little grass huts where they can catch some shade between bouts of sunbathing, cool to see.
