At this B & B, for it is no more than that despite its pretense, staff volunteers little, helpful only when the guest asks the right question. Rooms have a cold ambiance and vary in size and price, though all are expensive for what you get, Yhe small rooms are truly small! The toilet next to the breakfast room sometimes stinks to high heaven.

I stayed at Ca'Centopetrie for 2 nights in early Venice. This is a lovely property, away from the busy tourist areas, but just a short walk from the Academia Bridge. Our room was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with plenty of fresh towels each day. Apparently, mosquitos are an unwelcome visitor in Venice this time of year, and they seemed to find their way to our room, but after talking with Carlo, we were given a bug zapper that took care of the little buggers (pun intended). Carlo couldn't have been nicer. He has such a kind demeanor, and was a wonderful host. The reception is located up a flight of stairs, and this is where the breakfast was offered each morning. There was a nice assortment of pastries, yougurts, juices, and cereal. If I ever have the opportunity to return to Venice, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed here at the beginning of September for 3 nights. Our room was on the ground floor and opened onto a private courtyard where we enjoyed sitting at night. The room was spacious and like someone else commented, we found the concept of one sheet strange and needed extra pillows - but it wasn't a problem when we asked for them.
Carlo is lovely and very pleasant to talk with. He is welcoming and a real gentleman.
The location is good - the water taxi drops you off at Accademia Bridge and it is a 5-7 minute walk from there. It takes about 15 - 20 mins to get to St Marks Square.
This side of the Grand Canal is much quieter with some nice restaurants. There is an amazing cake/pasty shop just around the corner also.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and found the room comfortable and clean.

The Ca'Centopietre has a very tasteful but small brass plaque outside which is difficult to spot in the dark so it took some finding but with the help of a local vendor we got there. The gate leads through to a small courtyard and a flight of stairs up to reception on the first floor.
The room was B&B standard, basic but very clean with a view over the rooftops. The bathroom was small but everything worked, though I didn't try the bidet which folded out from under the wash basin! The free wifi was very welcome.
As mentioned by others it was Carlo who gave this small hotel its character and charm. He was very helpful and has a very gentle manner, his knowledge of Venice made such a difference.
The breakfast was very pleasant with good coffee, pastries and thankfully Coco Pops and yogurt which meant I could eat on a gluten free diet.
It is in a very good location away from the frenzy of St Mark's Square but conveniently near to the Accademia Bridge & the vaporetto stop there and also the vaporetto stop at Zattere. If driving to Venice it is cheaper to park at the camping park at Fusina from where you get the vaporetto to Zattere.
The room was very well priced for Venice and I would consider staying there again.

We were really happy when we were welcomed at the Ca Centopietre by its owner and he took his time to show us where to go in Venice around the map and gave us great suggestions to typical restaurants around the area. Located at Accademia, it's walking distance to Venice's biggest attractions. The typical Venetian smell was of course present in the room, specially in the bathroom, but considering the cost-benefit of the hotel, we could overlook the moldy stinky smell and just enjoy the joy of being around genuin friendly Venetians!

Ca Centopietre is hidden down a small side street and is accessed through a non-decrypt grey gate. Behind the gate is a Venetian building that has at it's heart a guy called Carlo. He is your receptionist, cook, guide, and concierge all in one. He is in the background but comes to the fore only when necessary.

Breakfast had the usual juice, cereal, coffee, and bread but done well. It is always the simple things that matter. The bread was freshly baked by Carlo. Croissants were available too. The standard coffee was good with espresso or cappuccino available also. The milk for the coffee was steamed in the espresso machine. It made it a very enjoyable experience.

The room we had wasn't large but was sufficient. It had a large wardrobe and table and chairs. There was a small fridge too which was good to keep drinks cool. The bathroom wasn't connected to the room which was not ideal but wasn't as big a problem as it would seem. We knew this when we booked the room. We were the only ones with use of the bathroom. There was very good air conditioning and a TV with only Italian channels on it too. The room was clean as was the bathroom but there were areas that could have done with a deeper clean.

I would recommend staying the the Dorsoduro area. There is a more relaxed feel here with student and locals prevalent. Strolling around the small streets here doesn't involve rugby tackles on guided tours to stay vertical. There are also a selection of good restaurants that are less expensive than in the main tourists areas. It is about a fifteen minute walk to St.Marks square and the hoards that you will find there. That is close enough.

We choose to stay here as the reviews on this site were very good while the reviews of other Venetian Hotels and B&B's seemed to be uniformly bad to average. We were very happy with our choice and would like to pass on the baton of recommendation to anybody else planning on visiting this wonderfully unique city. Use Carlo to get advice on where to go and what to do and you will have a wonderful visit.
