I stayed with my girlfriend in hotel for two nights. Its difficult to find check-in building so get a map or mobile navigation. The hotel is on good position; restaurants and others shops are close. We had double room - bad was double but probably two single together because in the middle was hole. Room was small but nice. Bathroom was very very small especially a shower.
We had a nice time without any problems.

Like others have mentioned, you have to check in a separate location, but that was no problem and the clerk spoke very good English. He was able to direct us to the San Lio and it was a very short walk (1 or 2 minutes). The room (rm 103) was very nice looking but the bed took up >75% of the room (not that I needed any more space than that). It was nice to have an en suite bathroom, my hotel in Rome did not. The tv worked and the wifi was good as well. The location is convenient as well. Over all, definitely a good value and a nice place to stay.

PS if you stay here, right across the street is a great place to get a pastry and a cappuccino for breakfast (breakfast is not included in the hotel price)

This hotel was difficult to find. Have to go around the block to another place to check in and out. The room was not like those shown in the photos that the hotel displays. Some of the rooms do appear to be like those in the pictures, however ours had out dated decor. The television did not work properly (kept saying no reception on every station except infomercials). The most disappointing and yuck aspect was that there was mould on a corner wall. The cleaners would see this every day they clean the rooms and yet they don't do anything about it. Also the furniture such as the desk and a shelf in the bathroom were made of a cheap veneer looking wood that was peeling off. The double bed was the smallest double that i have come across and was rock hard. Left us with a sore back for a good few days afterwards.
When our room was cleaned the cleaners did not replenish the shampoos. This should be a standard daily practice. The fan in the bathroom was part broke and made a very loud noise. The only positives to make for this place is the the room did come with a nice deck (the deck was almost the size of the room) & the hotel staff member was very friendly and helpful. Overall, friendly staff should just be a given, so on that basis we are not able to give this place an overall positive rating. For the money that you pay you don't get bang for your buck. Venice does seem to come at a premium for accommodation in comparison to other cities in Italy, but none the less mould, hard bed, broken fan, tiny room, outdated decor made for a below average stay. This place is in a really good location it just really needs to work on its room presentation and comfort.

Like everyone else it was hard to find and you actually go to another hotel to check in.The staff were helpful and efficient. We were given a nice room (106) which was over a shop that played load music until 10:30 at night very hard to sleep. Asked if we could move and we got the Matilda room quite and better wifi reception (very poor) in room 106. The hotel is well situated and for a few nights its very good. The 15 euro breakfast was not too bad not a lot of hot food but you need to walk to the other hotel to have it!

This is a quirky little hotel. The room itself was plenty big (we booked a double), the bathroom was tiny but clean and everything worked (water pressure and temperature), you have to pay for the internet but it works well and you really cannot beat the location. It’s very close to good restaurants, fun bars and some of the major attractions but it also has a very local feeling too. We paid $170USD for 1 night which seemed like a lot considering it was off season in Venice but frankly it was one of the cheaper locations I was able to find without sharing a bathroom (which is also common in Venice). The only real complaint/issue I had was the room across from us (1½ meters away) in the internal courtyard had a small balcony and people were out there smoking and their smoke came directly into our room. Yes, we did close the windows but the room was stuffy without fresh air & I didn’t see an A/C unit (which would have been off regardless because it was October). Generally, I would stay here again but perhaps try another room? The staff which greet you through a monitor (located in a different building) are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: There aren't many rooms so I don't know what I'd suggest.

My boyfriend and I booked an extra night to stay in Venice after our cruise.

The room was excellent. Very clean and new. But one down side was that our air conditioning did not seem to work properly...so it was a bit stuffy. The internet was really fast though.

The hotel itself was a bit difficult to find at first because the name was only on the entrance door. We walked completely past it several times because I was expecting a big sign sticking out of the building, haha...should always pay attention to the unit number! The concierge was at another hotel nearby, but you will find the map inside San Lio Tourist House on how to get there (try to do that in the day light if you are not familiar with the area). San Lio Tourist House is situated in a convenient location. Only several minutes to St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge. There's also a grocery store nearby to stock up cheap drinks.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They reminded us the day when ACTV went on strike and notified us an alternate method to get to the airport as well as the schedule. Even though it was a short stay, we really enjoyed it.

If you enjoy sleeping in a closet this place is fine. The air conditioning was broken and they did not care. The internet did not work and they did not care. The photo is deceiving . The location is very hard to find and first you have to stop at one location then go to another location to check in and then go back to the first location. There is no map on the hotel site on how to get to 2 locations. There is carpeting on walls. Tacky. I would rather stay further and take the vaporetto then go back to that room called Bruna

Room Tip: Make sure you ask what room and travel light .

You threatened us with the Tripadvisor review to steal us 78,00 euros and you made it….well done!!
To be fair i'd like to explain to all the honest customers and colleagues of Tripadvisor what happened:
the customer booked a double economy room for 3 nights through booking.com,after the first night the customer complained about the size of the room telling me that on the website the pictures of the room were completely different. I showed the customer that if you book from booking.com,after you put the dates in,the system shows you all the different type of rooms and each one goes with the picture;in fact the customer recognized his room.
To try and please the customer,i offered him free buffet breakfast and free Wifi connection (generally not free) that worked perfectly. But that wasn't enough and he started threatening me saying that he would put videos on the internet and he would talk bad of the San Lio; at that point i just wanted to satisfy an unhappy customer and i asked him what should i do to make his last 2 night more pleasurable and he said : " You can give me a show of Venice (value 78,00 euro) for free". I want to make clear that the customer stayed at the San Lio during a weekend in september (high season) and he paid 99,00 euro per night, which is a pretty good price for a stay in Venice in september.
I stupidly accepted,as the customer promised he wouldn't put any bad review on our property……and then i was threatened. A terrible investment.
