I was in the Attic appartment and really enjoyed my stay. The appartment was even better than expected, clean, fully equiped and comfortable. The hosts were very gracious and informative and wonderfully unintrusive. The appartment is by all sense and purposes independant. It is placed in a quiet area at night there was absolute silence. The terrace gives wonderful views and is an ideal place to wind down after a days work, I wasn't in Venice as a tourist, but imagine that after a hard days sightseeing that a drink on the terrace would be divine!

Our two week vacation in Italy included a two-night stay at this wonderful B&B and it was one of our favorite spots! Immaculately clean, friendly hosts, perfect location away from the crowds of tourists, magnificent views - a perfect find! Having never been to Venice, I was worried about being "on the outskirts" of the city in Castello - but it turned out to be the best decision! It was only about a 10-15 minute walk to St Marks Square - but once we turned onto Via Garibaldi it was like we were home. The apartment is above the owner's home, up several steep flights of steps. One large room with comfortable double bed plus a single bed, another room with a single daybed plus kitchen area, seating and modern bathroom. Lastly, there was the beautiful deck with panoramic views of Via Garibaldi and the lagoon. Very spacious for our family including two teenage daughters. Highly recommend Ca' Alexander!

My husband and I stayed in the Ca' delle Ancore apartment while our friends stayed in the Ca' Alexander B&B, in October 2012. The Castello was the perfect area to stay in and the street where our accomodation was fanstastic. Lined with everything you could ever need this street was quiet, clean and the sight of people walking their dogs or children playing was a lovely experience. We got off the water taxi from the airport at the Arsenale stop and it was a quick stroll to our apartment. The apartment had everything we could possibly need, was clean, comfortable and only one flight of stairs. When we did visit St Marks square, it was well within a pleasant walking distance. We stayed in the middle of Venice last year, where it was busy with tourists, this trip was a much more pleasureable experience for both of us. Sabrina and her family are lovely to deal with and very professional. They even arranged a water taxi to collect us and take us to the cruise terminal, where Sabrina and her husband even turned up to say goodbye and make sure the taxi had arrived. All in all a lovely accomodation and visit to Venice.

Room Tip: If you don't like lots of stairs then choose the Ca' delle Ancore. The Ca' Alexander B...

A fantastic apartment, spacious for our family of four (two children), they loved collecting the fresh breakfast placed at the bottom of the stairs each morning. It was quiet, clean, modern, with a wonderful terrace with great views overlooking Venice and the daily street life below, just out of the crowded centre of Venice but within easy walking distance to St Marks Square.

We stayed for three nights during late October, in apartment Ca' delle Ancore located on Via Garibaldi. A wide street, unusual for Venice, not touristy at all, but still a very historic area, and a nice quiet retreat. A perfect apartment for four adults and two children, clean and well decorated. It was in a great position, overlooking the canal, which had a barge selling fruit and vegetables, a range of shops sellng local produce, several restaurants, and a wine shop selling locally produced wine straight from the cask, into the empty bottle you had taken along. Many of the attractions were within walking distance, but two water bus stops were wirhin five minutes walk, if needed. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and things to do and see. A great celebration for our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary.

We stayed at this apartment because of its location to the Benniale - we were traveling with our 4 year old and didn't want to walk too far, and it was perfect. The owners/family were gorgeous and so helpful - the breakfast lovely - and the terrace a perfect spot to sit and watch the sunset with a glass of red. It was a real find and made our stay in Venice all the more delightful.
Thank you.

I had to make a very speedy booking, as I needed to take my Mother and 2 children to my Aunty's funeral in Venice within 24 hours. I only found this B&B by accident as I looked at Google maps. I knew I wanted to stay within the Via Garibaldi area, as I needed access to Venice Lido and found this B&B. I looked it up on Trip Advisor and read all the comments. The accommodation met all my expectations.

Booking was easy through telephone and email with Sabrina, the owners' daughter. She booked us a watertaxi from Marco Polo airport - and true to word it was there for us. The owners Alexandro and Nadia were welcoming. Both well presented, professional and warm. They really helped us during our stay and we felt part of the family.

There is no sign saying B&B but we had clear instructions of how to get there from Sabrina. The accommodation is SPOTLESS!!! A really clean, well lit and decorated entrance area and stairs. Yes there are a lot of stairs. So the advice in some of the other comments was very helpful. We only had two medium suitcases between four and packed very light. But this is the ONLY drawback in my view. (If you want lifts, pay through the nose and go to a hotel!).

The accommodation is at the top of the building above the owners' apartment. You still have a lot of privacy, but know that they are there if you need them. There is one big bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable king size double and a single bed. There is another room zoned into living room with TV (with a bed acting as seating), a dining table and chairs and a newly fitted modern kitchenette. Off the kitchen is the modern shower room with toilet and wash basin. The kitchen is stocked with fridge, kettle, microwave, oven, hob and coffee maker. There is constant hot water available.

Nina, the cleaner, comes into clean and make the beds every day maintaining standards. We were given croissants, bread and jam and home-made pastries everyday (of which I have asked for the recipe from Nadia). Milk and yogurts were provided. You of course can make your own breakfast on top of this yourself. It was great as we didn't feel we needed to get dressed for breakfast and could relax before going out for the day.

The balcony off the living area is lovely. As we went there in November, we could not enjoy it to the full, but there is a lovely view down the street to the lagoon, you can also see St Marks tower from the side. Via Garibaldi is such a thriving, lovely part of Venice with bars, restaurants and shops. There is even a man selling fruit and veg off a boat. The street used to be a canal until it was converted during the Facist's regime, so that is why it is so wide and the only 'Via' in Venice! It was lovely sitting on the balcony on Saturday night sipping Pinot Grigot, eating olives and listening to the bustle down below! But don't be alarmed, as it went VERY quiet by 10pm for a good night's sleep.

It is about a 25 minute walk to St Mark's Square from the accommodation, which is very good for Venice! Or you can jump onto a waterbus for one or to stops to St Mark's.

We all loved it so much we will only booked there now when we go back to Venice! To sum up: Good value for money, privacy, clean, comfortable, convenience, views, sleeps a family of 4, need to be able to climb stairs efficiently.

Thank you Alexandro and Nadia for your hospitality.
