I used Trip Advisor to research hotels in Venice and chose Ca Dei Dogi and was not disappointed. We booked the superior room which is the last room up 5 small flights of stairs. Our bags were carried up for us. This room had a small entrance as you entered with a day bed . Fantastic to rest on and log on to email etc using free wifi. The room was well presented, comfortable bed, pillows and air conditioning. Bathroom was a good size . Shower excellent. Breakfast which is included was delicious. Fruit, yogurt, croissant, apple strudel, cappuccino to order and the omelette to die for. Having just spent a week in the USA where hotel breakfasts are an unappetising mixture of salt, sugar and fat we thought we were in heaven. in a great location near St Marks Square with plenty of restaurants in the area. Run by a delightful couple, we would highly recommend but book well in advance as it is very small and I imagine books out regularly.
