“Great hotel and price”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We reserved a room at Ca' San Rocco for our trip in the summer of 2012. We came in the morning very early and the hotel was nice enough to let us store our luggage until it was time to check in. When we tried to check in we realized something happened with the reservations and it showed that we had only requested 1 guest and not 2. Without hesitation the staff said it was no problem and adjusted our reservation. There was a slight increase in price because of this - which is to be expected - but they were able to put us into a room.

The room itself was beautiful, with a kitchen, sitting area, bedroom, and balcony. The balcony overlooked a small park, which I was definitely not expecting from Venice, but it was quite beautiful. The complimentary breakfast was standard and they had a nice outdoor terrace to sit and eat on.

The hotel is close to the train station and I really enjoyed adventuring through the streets of Venice from where the hotel was located to sites like the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square. We opted not to get a water taxi or water bus pass because they always looked so croweded, so we walked without problem everywhere.

I highly recommend Ca' San Rocco for your stay in Venice. The prices are reasonable, the staff is great, the rooms are beautiful and it is in a very nice location.

We stayed in the Ca'San Rocco in July for three nights for our 10th Wedding anniversary. We had pre-booked easily by emailing Valentina Cuogo about three months before we were to arrive. We then e-mailed again closer the time with our estimated time of arrival. However the flight was late, we didn't reach the hotel until well after midnight, we still received a warm welcome and felt at ease and as if we had not been of any trouble at all. Which was lovely.

We were on the top floor in a lovely room with big windows, which had shutters, which shut out the sun thoroughly. It was peaceful and tranquil over looking the gardens, which are owned by the adjacent properties. The bed was comfy and the air-conditioning was brilliant. The room and the bathroom were clean and really prettily furnished.

We had breakfast on the terrace which was one floor below, also over looking gardens, so all you could hear were birds. The breakfast was made up of the usual continental style eates - cheese, pastries, ham etc and even a nice cup of tea!

The location was perfect not far from the bus or train station, we had printed off the direction from the website and they were perfect, even late at night when we were tired!

I would definitely recommend staying here, we walked easily everywhere from here, and looked forward to returning, which we did usually twice a day to change and re-coup ready for going out in the evening. It was central enough for reaching all the sights but so peaceful and safe.

I stayed here during a very hot and busy period in August 2012. Good aircon, large room by European standards, and three windows flooding it with light--but with power operated shutters to keep the heat of the day out. Just a few minutes to San Rocco Church and the Scuola San Rocco, and about 5 minutes to the Frari Church. Yet tucked into a quiet residential area next to University housing. Very clean, and a good breakfast, where your coffee will be made to order on request. Clientele more European than North American. Staff reserved, but correct and pleasant. It is walkable from Stazione Santa Lucia, but be aware that there are a lot of steps up and down bridges to get here, and if you take a wrong turn the first time, you may add more! Which means if you are carrying very many bags it can be a struggle. I liked this close to things, but out of the madness oasis very much.

We stayed there one night and we thought it was very lovely. Beware there is no elevator, but other than that the rooms are a good size, everything was clean and the staff was nice enough and always polite. The location is great as it is a 10 min walk from the train station. Make sure to write down the directive they will send to you before check in because it could be tricky to find without it since you have to buzz in at the gate. The only negative I have is the hotel charges you for Internet. The check out is at 11am but they have a place for you to leave your luggage after checkout.

Room Tip: If you have a lot of luggage you might want to be on the first floor... No elevator but only 6 rooms...

Easy access from Rail and Bus Terminals and hence airport. The hotel is pleasantly located and the rooms are bright, beautifully furnished with modern facilities. Breakfast is served on a delightful terrace overlooking greenery. The breakfast consisted of a good selection of continental style items. The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. San Rocco is within easy walking distance of all major areas of Venice. The map from the hotel reception was invaluable.

With family we have staying in Ca' San Rocco in august of 2012 for a week. Hotel situated in very calm place not far from p-le Roma (autobus station) and good location from railway station. In hotel works very pleasant staff! I was like breakfasts here and clean room in elegant style (important that room not a small and bathroom large and cute). I can't imagine best place for a vacation in Venice as Ca' San Rocco. When I will back in Venice, I will back only in Ca' San Rocco hotel!

This was an easy hotel to locate due to there helpful instructions that were E-mailed to us before we left home.Although relatively close to the railway station the easy walk found the hotel in a quiet location. The staff were helpful when asked, polite and spoke good english.Breakfast was enough to kickstart the day with lovely area outside to eat if you wanted.Other guests upstairs were noisy at times but overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel when staying in Venice as the location was ideal.
