“Once in a lifetime experience”

I stayed in Vecellio once. My band was on a tour throughout Veneto and we had a magnificent performance in Venice that night. The concert ended late, so we were really tired.
Rooms themselves were extremely cozy but also stylish (Venetian baroque), with a fine firm bed to sleep. The location is both convenient and sacral, overlooking the San Michele island.
About the staff - all the Venetians that i spoke with told me that Matteo (the owner) is "one of the best people you will ever meet", and getting to know him personally just confirmed what I already heard. He is super-helpful when it comes to tips on how to manage your time and money in the city that he practically "owns". He is one of those people who will give you his time, effort and share the wisdom about this outstanding city - from where to eat, to what to visit. Matteo's lovely wife Beatta is also a great host and a breathe of fresh air to the whole thing.
A wonderful little hotel that worth whole lot more than money spent.
Once in a lifetime experience.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, being directly onto the Vaporetto stops makes getting around really easy and transfers to and from the airport are direct for just 15 Euro. A 5-10 minute walk takes you to the hustle and bustle of tourist Venice, but this area gives you the chance to take a breather from all of that. The rest of the area to the north is very pretty and really quiet even during the day. The staff could not have been more helpful and our room, No2 on the ground floor was more than adequate. Would return to this hotel without a second thought.

Matteo the hotel owner was most helpful , great hotel for a short break. Location was perfect everything was in walking distance & the hotel is situated right by a vaporetto stop which is the best way to reach the hotel. We flew into trevisso airport & found getting to the hotel really simple as Matteo had given us clear instructions. Would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay in Venice. Matteo was very friendly and helpful, as was his wife Beatte. She is a waitress at a nearby Restaurant( can't remember the name!) where we went for a special Birthday meal and she was so kind and helpful and the meal was wonderful.
Our room on the 1st floor had a lovely view over the lagoon and it was spotlessly clean and the maid was so pleasant. The breakfast was adequate and the coffee was lovely - just as we read on the reviews.
It was so handy that the Vaperetto stop was just outside the Hotel, we had a 72 hour pass and really recommend it.The return fare from the Airport to Fundamente Nove was 27 euros and the 72 hour water bus pass was 32 euros per person.
We think this Hotel is excellent value.

Two couples had two rooms. One was in the Annex. It was very nice and the A/C worked great the three hot July days we were there. Our friends had room #1 in the main hotel. The room was very small and due to the heat and lack of good air conditioning not very comfortable. By the time they finished with a shower and try to dress in the small space they felt like they needed to shower again. The guy at the front desk just joked about it when they asked if something could be done. The location was great but if you are visiting during the summer months the annex is a better choice in my opinion.

Very cozy hotel. Friendly manager Matteo, very tasty and substantial breakfast, pretty furniture. Location is nice but it's better to take vaporetto to get to the hotel if you come to Venice by train. It's not far from the railway station but a lot of bridges by the way don't have ramps for the cases.

The location right by Fondamente Nove water taxi stop is perfect for arriving from the airport on the Alilaguna boat. Only a very few yards from there to the hotel door. The walk to San Marco or Rialto is only 15 minutes or so or, better still, get a 12, 24 or 36 hour water taxi pass and travel from the Fondamente Nove stop. It seems a bit expensive - but really, for what you get, it's not. You can go all around the city, up and down the Grand Canal and out to Murano. A lot cheaper than a gondola trip and I think it's better looking at gondolas than riding in them (but I suppose you really do have to take one gondola ride!). We had a great room in the hotel easily big enough, beautifully decorated, nice shower room and overlooking the lagoon. Breakfast is more than adequate, cheese, cold meats, juice, breads and jams - and Matteo's coffee is excellent. Matteo is the owner/manager and he is very friendly and helpful. He's happy to tell you places to eat, which are where he eats himself - so they are authentic and you won't be paying through the nose. A highly recommended hotel which we think was very good value in what is, of course, a rather expensive and very beautiful city. Just a tip - if you don't already know Venice, go and stand in the middle of the Academia bridge - you'll feel as if you are standing in the middle of a Canaletto painting.
