Great location from the station, which is a huge plus. The rooms are quite good sized and clean. A downside is that you have to share the bathroom with the other rooms. The breakfast consists of some croissants and access to a coffee machine. Overall an affordable place with great location.

The place is a gem for us because of its location to the train station. I guess we were lucky to share bathroom with a family of 3 kids whom are very clean & considerate. Our room was facing the cafe but the noise is bearable & had to issue with lack of quality sleep because we were too tired to be disturbed of any noise around. Breakfast is self service. We head out early in the morning to catch the sunrise in Marco Polo pier & by the time we returned, we practically ate what is left over by other guests. So get up early to get your free breakfast as they do not top up once it's finished. Overall, the place is average & reasonable if you want room near to the train & bus terminal and also in the island.

Pros:
* good location. 5 min walk from train station

Cons:
* air conditioning didn't work- was like sauna in room
* walls cracked tried to hide them with stickers for a quant feeling
* lady at reception unfriendly/unprofessional - makes you feel like a burden
* breakfast is ordinary (at best)
* bathroom shared with 4 rooms. Both toilet and shower are together means that if you are busting for the toilet you have to wait while someone showers. Most ppl wake up about same time due to paper thin walls

Would not recommend this hotel to others. Could probably find something nicer for same price.

we stayed there for two nights and the airconditioner broke down the first day (it was very hot during the night). the internet didn't work either, and all we needed was the phone number of our next hostel. so i went to the reception to return the key and asked if they had wifi there, or if she could maybe look up a phone number for me. first she got angry about me telling her that the internet didn't work. then she barely spoke english and got irritated when i tried to explain it again. when she understood i was asking if she could look a phone number up on her computer, she lifted the papers she had in front of her and waved them at me saying she was very busy. she shooed us out and told us to use the internet cafe around the corner. and this woman was the boss of this residence!

My daughter and I visited Venice for 4 days and stayed at Residenza Ca Dario for three nights. The residence's location is absolutely great: not so many tourists around, many sweet little streets and great squares, only a 10 minutes walk from the Ferrovia or Piazzale Roma and right next to a great restaurant and little bar with delicious brioches and coffee (we never had breakfast at the residence, since not so great looking). The room was very big and clean. We had to share the bathroom which was cleaned every day by the residence's staff. The only inconvenience about sharing a bathroom is who you have to share it with. The first day was no problem at all and then guests arrived who did not care about flushing the toilet nor cleaning the shower from their soap/ hair..If you book this place make sure to get a room not facing the street (restaurant closes at 1am and it's very loud). We were in the back and it was just perfect. Since all rooms have thin walls and very noisy doors, you hear when someone is coming or leaving and here again: if you share the place with respectful people it's no problem, otherwise there can be very loud and animated discussions during breakfast already at 6h30 am...which meant for us that we got up early as well and seized the day...very lovely thing to do in Venice ;-) I would like to recommend this place, since after all it was a pleasant stay because of the location and infrastructure, but I must say that I have never experienced such an unfriendly staff. It was not a communication problem, since Italian is my mother language: the staff was competent but n-o-t-h-i-n-g else, there was no "buongiorno", no asking anything..just plain blank administration and no "arrivederci" at the end..This attitude did not make me feel welcome at all and therefore ruined the charm it could have left in my memory...too bad!

This place was not pleasant at all. First, it is far from any sites in Venice. We had to take a water "taxi" everywhere. Second, the shower curtain was filthy. It has black mold on the bottom. Further, the shower was located where you had to hunch over to shower because the ceiling titled down. The staff is not friendly and barely speak english. How can you run a hotel in Venice and not speak English?! The "breakfast" was abysmal. It consisted of juice coffee and a croissant. The sheets were not changed. Finally, the towels were the material of table cloth napkins. Not a pleasant stay.
