We are a young couple who, like many, decided to get away to Venice for a weekend stay. Whilst being in a handy location (Cannaregio is close to both the rail station and bus station) that is the only positive we could muster.

The air conditioning did not work despite the noise it created (substantial), This left us leaving the window open in an attempt to cool off in the muggy evening temperature. That's when the plague of mosquitoes flew in ravaging us throughout the night. At least you get a choice!

There was an overbearing odour emanating from our ensuite that could not me mistaken for anything other than raw sewerage. Do not stay in the 'economy room' which, despite being 135 per night (not so economy) smelled like something you would find in a third world public bathroom.

The concierge was well to do, and accomodating in general, but to sum up, I would not recommend this place to anyone wanting a pleasant stay in an amazing city,

Just back from a (quickly planned) third time staying here at Casa del Melograno, Cannaregio, Venice.

House of the Pommegranites as great as usual.

Stayed in self cater apartment with canal views and outlook towards Grand Canal..

Stayed here previously on B and B , this time we enjoyed being able to cater our own breakfasts to suit, useful with a young child.

Clean, great service, attentive staff and good value as Venice goes.

Location perfect fro what we like to do. ie, exploring the streets, sailing to Murano and beyond and walking the length of Venice.

Great place to stay.

Room Tip: Try it! Great district to stay in, easy to explore all Venice, quiet if you need it to be, book a canal view room, very atmospheric.

I just stayed at Casa del Melograno for the weekend. If you want a nice clean hotel in an excellent location in Venice, this is it!
The rooms are small -as they are in Europe- but very clean. Beautiful bathroom. In the back the hotel has a garden, which is like "an oasis in the desert" of masonry and water! And this is where breakfast is served -pending the weather of course. Beautiful relaxing spot.
The hotel is located only 50 meters (200 feet) from water bus stop San Marcoula on the Grand Canal, where lines 1 and 2 stop. And 50 meters from a main pedestrian street. And it's even on a canal!
I have nothing at all to complain about, and keep in mind I stay like 150-200 nights a year in hotels.
Internet connection is extra, if you need it.
Breakfast is good, cappucino, orange juice, croissant, bread, yoghurt, all served to your table.

Very nice renovated rooms, quiet and convenient location, good value. Unusually for Venice there is a nice garden, great spot for breakfast or a drink. Breakfast service a bit slow.

Room Tip: 2 downstairs rooms avoid the stairs

Venice is expensive. 60-65 euros for a single room seems to be the price if you want a comfortable accommodation. However, 3 stars seem too many to me and the reviews seem to overestimate this B & B. I could not have breakfast so I can not judge it.
Cleanliness was very good; forniture was ok; location convenient if you want to stay near the S. Lucia station and near the boat station of S. Marcuola. The Ghetto is also very close!

Anyway, if you can find better for the same price, let me know.
