The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The directions provided to the hotel were excellent and impressive.

The hotel let us leave our luggage and use their garden and internet even after we checked out, while we waited for the train.

They have a very pretty garden and the breakfast was fresh and good.

The room was in an adjacent building, but newly-renovated and very large, including a separate lounge. Location was OK - in the old town and about a 30 minute walk from St Mark's Square. Reception staff were very helpful, with restaurant recommendations. On the down side, reception was only open 8-8, the bin in the room hadn't been emptied from the previous occupants, toiletries were not topped up after day 1 and the waitress who was covering reception when we checked out was a little off-hand. Having said all this, I would stay there again. Very good price for the location and quality

We stayed here 4 nights in July and we thought it was really good.
The guy at the desk was really welcoming and friendly and gave us great suggestions on what to do and where to eat.

We had originally booked one twin room and one double room but there was a problem with the air conditioning in the twin room so we were upgraded to the apartment for free.
This was great as there was loads more room than in just a room but did prove to be a bit annoying being away from the main building where the other half of the family were and all the suitcases!

Breakfast in the morning is what let the rating down a star. It was pretty rubbish! The woman who served the breakfast was nice enough but she was really slow and if there were quite a few other people waiting in front of you, you could be there a LONG time waiting on food. The food its self wasn't very good. The croissants were burnt and the bread and rolls were brick hard...and that was it...you got nothing else!! If I was to give any suggestions to the hotel, it would be to get more staff, more food with a wider variety of things to chose from.

The location was great and for it being in Venice, it was really reasonably priced. It was just round the corner to the water bus and about 10 minutes from the bus station.

Venice itself was really expensive so try not eat on any of the main streets or be prepared to pay a fortune for anything. I would definitely recommend a visit to Murano which is a lot less touristy and busy.

Great experience and would defiantly look at staying here again.

The purpose of booking a hotel room while traveling is to have a place to leave your luggage and to sleep at night. Based on this purpose, this is a tough review to write because I gues the room served its initial purpose but only to a point. Here's why...

My husband and I were in Italy visiting family. On our way back to Germany, we decided to spend 1 night in Venice. Why not do something romantic like that? So, we booked this hotel based the following: 1) on the good reviews and rating after hours of looking, 2) Advertised Air Conditioning (www.booking.com) and 3) advertised Wi-Fi in the entire hotel (again www.booking.com). We arrived on a Thursday afternoon, following the directions provided on the hotel's website, by foot. Got a little lost but that was due to missing the sign for the bridge's name. Anyway, we check in and learn that our apartment (we were expecting a room, not an apartment) was located in another building. This did not bother us at all, thinking that this other building would still have the AC and Wi-Fi. Afterall, this other building is associated with main hotel, right? We thought we were lucky because the apartment building was in a small alcove with a couple other buildings and small courtyard. Our thoughts- quiet area and private. We were wrong.

The apartment had no A/C and no Wi-Fi. Please do not take me for one of those stuck-up Americans who cannot live with out AC because we can and do (our house in Germany doesn't have AC). We've stayed at hotels throughout Europe without AC. But the fact that there were no screens on the windows is what really bothered us. It was a warm night and there was a slight breeze outside. So, in order to try and cool down, we had no choice but to open the windows. This caused the flies and mosquitoes to come in the room. Also, with the windows open, you could hear everything going on in the courtyard. As a result, we did not get any good sleep at all, therefore defeating the purpose of booking a hotel room. The lack of Wi-Fi was an issue for us because we had left our car on the mainland and wanted to check train schedules to get back in the morning as well as the weather reports for our drive back to Germany.

Good points of the hotel: near a water bus stop, which is very convenient. Receptionist was warm and friendly when we arrived (had a funny situation with the building key breaking in the lock, which was quickly resolved). The breakfast garden at the main hotel building looked nice but we had an early checkout and did not try the hotel's breakfast. Plenty of hot water in the shower (although the bathroom itself was very small), big room and bed (although a little hard- some might like this though). Price was reasonable if you take into account location and the size of the room.

Suggestions for the hotel: clarify in advertisements about where the A/C and Wi-Fi are actually available, put screens on the windows regardless of AC in rooms or not, and for those rooms/apartments without A/C have fans already in the rooms if they are booked.

Based on this experience, would I recommend this hotel or stay here again? No to both.

Room Tip: State your want for A/C and/or Wi-Fi access.

We had a lovely time at Casa del Melograno! My friend is partially disabled and spends alot of time in a wheel chair. They gave us a ground floor room which was very easy for her to navigate with the chair. The windows opened onto the lovely garden where breakfast was served every morning! Great care and expense went into creating this garden as Venice has no dirt really....it is all rock! The staff went out of their way to make sure our every need was taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Venice! Excellent location!!

Room Tip: Ask for a garden side room as it is beautiful!
