We loved the Casa Rezzonico! Found the room to be quite large for Venice, the staff to be pleasant, breakfast to be fine and the location to be excellent! The canal was quiet, and the area is good, and there are great trattorias is the area (try Ca Foscari or Taverna San Trovaso) , There is an Internet point nearby at the San Baranba Piazza, the lovely garden is a wonderful setting for breakfast, the en-suite bathroom is large, well-equipped and modern, and the room had a canal view, a safe, and air-conditioning that really needed in an unseasonably warm May. Room was well appointed and a good value by Venetian standards. We had no problems at all & would stay there again!

We stayed at Casa Rezzonico because it was recommended by the Accademia hotel, the only reasonably priced hotel on the Grand Canal. Casa Rezzonico is run by the Accademia owner's nephew.

On the plus side, it's greatly situated. Our room overlooked the Barnaba canal (a small canal coming off the Grand Canal used mainly to moor boats). The hotel is only a two-minute walk from the Ca Rezzonica stop where you get off and on the vaporettos (the big boats owned by the local muncipality). And it's also a very easy 10-minute walk from the Piazza Roma car park (go for the first multi-storey car park as you cross the bridge, called the Communale).

The room was good: light, airy, air con, en-suite. In summary if, like us, you want to spend little time in your room and most wandering around Venice, this is the hotel for you.

Where it falls down is in comparison to the other accommodation we stayed in on this trip. For what it was, we felt 140 euros pppn was perhaps a bit steep and the breakfast was certainly nothing to write home about: biscotti and Dairylea-esque cheese triangles.

I stayed here for a few nights in March. The location was great as it was right on a canal and near a water taxi stop. The room was large and it overlooked the canal it was on. The staff was great and helped me get lodging in Florence. I would stay here again!
