“Genuine warmth of staff makes this hotel special”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

We spent four nights in this perfectly located hotel.Really its not necessary to spend 100 Euros on a water taxi-the A LaLingua boat stops right at San Stae stop a few steps away from the hotel and just a few Euros. And this is one of the best things about the hotel.Quiet yet close to what you want.Walter and Sandro really do run a lovely hotel with an intimate and friendly atmosphere and the staff, who seem to multitask, are fantastic. We stayed in the annexe which was just around the corner.Wonderfully quiet.Yes the beds were a little solid but on reading a suggestion here, I asked if we could have the bed toppers on and problem resolved. Also ask for a selection of pillows and some are also of the solid variety. Our room in the annexe was well furnished. If I had a quibble it would be that this was a dark room with a view if you stood on the bed.I think most of the other rooms were bigger and had a more pleasant outlook. But hey, a view of a lovely steeple standing on a bed in Venice is still special.I would make a request next time for a more pleasant outlook - and there will be a nex time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view!

My two friends and I stayed at this charming hotel for two nights in April 2013. The accommodations were outstanding. We were welcomed by Walter, one of the owners. He was welcoming and extremely helpful to us. We were exhausted and frustrated as my friend's luggage had never left our home airport. Walter assured her that he would stay on top of the problem and let us know as things progressed. Due to his welcome and help, we were immediately in a much better mood. Our room was very nice and spacious. The location of the hotel is fabulous. It is in a quiet residential area but within walking distance to all the action and sites. Walter's recommendation for a simple meal was outstanding. He also sent us to a charming food shop. At both the restaurant and store we we were among the locals and enjoyed this look into everyday life in Venice. The courtyard and dining areas were beautiful. The breakfast and service was amazing. With its wonderful hospitality, service, decor and location this hotel deserves to be #1 in Venice. Thank you to all at the Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. PS With Walter's help my friends luggage arrived the next day.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor. I imagine the rooms upstairs are just as nice and spacious as ours w...

This little hotel is a real find. The warm welcome from Walter was on a par with with glorious sunshine bathing the little courtyard garden. Our rooms were amazing; we stayed in the little annexed Medieval building with silk lined bedroom walls giving a beautifully rich and sumptuous Venetian feel on a small scale. The location is perfect, just a few footsteps from St Stae vaporetto stop and for us walking distance to Rialto and St Marco. A lovely quiet location with shops, restaurants only minutes away. The Osteria Mocenigo is literally across the street and well worth booking a table - delicious food, great service and a warm welcome at the end of another incredible day in this beautiful city. We booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews on Tripadvisor for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary and absolutely fell in love with the hotel - the reviews tell it like it is! The staff are fabulous, the rooms delightful and everything is beautifully clean and stylish. Thanks to Sandro for booking the water taxi back to the airport as a final surprise for our parents, so they could end their trip in the style to which they had become accustomed, speeding across the water in a superbly polished craft as this wonderful city grew smaller, shimmered in the water, bathed in sunlight under the bluest Italian sky will be an enduring memory... We will be back!

We have just arrived home after our first visit to Venice.
After our short flight from the UK on EasyJet we climbed aboard our Water Taxi and headed to our hotel (fare 110E but worth it). The fast trip was great and arrived just by the water door of the hotel.
The hotel and staff are very good and always have exellant advice.
Would recommend this hotel as is clean and central for everything.

Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo earns it's place at the top of the recommended hotels in Venice. Walter and his wonderful staff take are of your every need, with a smile and efficiency. Venice exudes charm and Al Ponte Mocenigo highlights this with it's decor and comfort in the rooms and interior patio for wonderful continental breakfasts. Ask Elsbeth to make you one of her wonderful cafe lates in the morning. Located thirty meters from the #1 San Stae vaporetto stop, which also is the stop for Alilaguna boat to the airport give wonderful convenience; think of the many people dragging their luggage while consulting a map to find their hotel.

Venice is wonderful and charming city, but when you are unused to traveling everywhere by boat it can be stressful, Walter and everyone at Al Ponte Mocinego works very hard to solve your problems while enjoying their work and giving you a smile. Did I mention VALUE? Not yet. Think wonderful value, and choices of accommodations that will meet your every need. This is not a two star hotel, it is a strong three star hotel with warmth, charm and friendliness, but you will not be paying for a four star. I suggest you book early. Many people know this hotel and come back often. Don't plan to be a drop in.

Room Tip: There are many choices of rooms. When you send emails note your desires and special needs. Venice is...

We stayed at this hotel purely based on Tripadvisor reviews. It is an absolute delight - very easy to get to off the waterbus from the airport and within easy walking distance of all the main sights that Venice has to offer. Our room was quite small and not a great view, but we did get the last room available and to be fair this didn't detract from the hotel at all. Although the room was quite small it was really quiet and peaceful and immaculately decorated. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and bathroom facilities equally of a high standard. The breakfasts were gorgeous (warm croissants !) - we sat outside on two of the days in the courtyard - what a great way to start the day. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay there if we ever manage to make it back to Venice.

Room Tip: We had room No 7 - small but perfectly formed.

This was my second time staying at the Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. Great hotel with great location. Rooms are very large as well as the bathroom. The only thing I would say is the beds are hard, so ask for the cover on the mattress to make it softer. Breakfast is great and we loved sitting in the courtyard to enjoy our lovely breakfast.
