We found this hotel by researching Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed and can say this was/is an excellent hotel. It is in a perfect location...right on the San Stae vaporetto (water bus) stop in a quiet neigborhood. Very easy to get to/from train station, airport, restaurants, and key sites. Also, you can get to anywhere in Venice (and surrounding islands) quickly and efficiently. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotless and have everything that is required for comfortable stay. Thank you Hotel Al Ponte Mocengio...we will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 8, but I think all rooms are great depending on what you are looking for (double...

We selected this hotel using TripAdvisor reviews like yours. We arrived via the vaporetto from St Lucia train station and followed the instructions to the hotel which were perfect and easy. As everyone mentions, it's a terrific location. We were welcomed by Sandro who took us to the quad room in the annex around the corner. There's a lot of charm here and the room is beautifully decorated, it's difficult to imagine how the room and bathroom renovation was done when you have a 500 year old building and everything has to be brought in by boat and the stairways are so narrow. It's easy to get around Venice from here and the vaporetto stops at the end of the street. Breakfast service was really nice and the staff was super friendly. It's quiet and comfortable, away from the hordes of tourists and souvenir shops. Sandro was helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations. He knows his stuff. We had just arrived from Florence where we stayed at the no. 1 rated TripAdvisor hotel there, Hotel David, and saw some of the same guests here at the no. 1 rated TripAdvisor hotel in Venice. It made me realize how powerful and influential these ratings are for travelers that are part of the cult like following of TripAdvisor. Travelers and reviewers like you make it so rewarding to find such great values and experiences in these top rated hotels. Would stay here again and highly recommend it.

We stayed at Al Ponte Mocenigo for 4 nights and would recommend it as a great base to explore Venice.

10 minutes walk to the Rialto, a short walk to the San Stae Vaparetto stop, yet in a quiet area it was perfectly located.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, breakfast was an excellent typical continental breakfast and our room (in the Annexe) was spacious and spotless.

There were stairs to our room but these were not difficult and easier than a lot of what you would have to deal with around Venice!

Overall very highly recommended

We stayed in November 2012 for our Honeymoon. The hotel is lovely with only 10 rooms or so and the directions that are given in the web page are enough to get there. Vaporetto leaves you three blocks away from the hotel.

Location; near everything. Very close to Vaporetto stop San Stae

Staff: Sandro at the front desk was very helpful giving us recommendations of local restaurants and very attentive with our needs. He made our stay perfect!

Room: the room was big, had a view to the canal and had an antique decoration. I liked it, it had everything we needed. The bathroom was spacious as well. We had a great sleep since the hotel and the area is very quiet

Cleanliness: all the areas and the room were spotless!!

Ammenities: you get free breakfast and free wi-fi.

There is nothing bad that I could say about this hotel. I would definitely come back and have already recommended it to friends!

Stayed at this wonderful hotel for 3 days whilst on our tour of Italy for my 50th birthday. Had a marvelous time. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Venetian style rooms are wonderful, and the bed comfortable, although a little squeaky :-) Stayed in the family room with our 15 yr old daughter - plenty of room. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Location is great.........quiet, but not too far from the main attractions via the local vaporreto, or by walking. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Venice.

Room Tip: Stayed in family room which overlooked the courtyard. Queen size four poster bed, with single bed l...

small hotel, very clean , good position , freindly staff, good value for money. The staff were attentive - the breakfast a typical continental choice . There was plenty of information at reception on trips etc. My only very small critisism was as we were in the annexe there could have been a basic book of info about the rooms/heating /contacting reception and other general questions in case you did not take it all in when it was explained to you on arrival. The rooms were lovely and extrememly clean. A small problem was put right straight away. So overall we would recommend the hotel and would like to go back there for another trip.

Room Tip: we were in the annexe - lovely rooms - but there are steep steps to the rooms - so keep that in mind

An excellent little hotel; we found it through Trip Advisor and it deserves it's rating. Yes, our room was on the small side, but this is Venice, and the helpful efficient staff and excellent breakfast more than compensated. Hard to fault the value for money. It would be easy to pay a lot more in Venice and get somewhere not as good. The location, two minutes from San Stae vaporetto stop was convenient, but also quiet, with several places to eat nearby (good recommendations from the hotel). I would not hesitate to use this hotel again and happy to recommend it.
