“I Keep Coming Back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

I stayed here the first time in 2004 when it was brand new and have returned a handful of times over the past decade. In 2004, it was a dream. Clean, luxurious and a steal for the rates. They had Aqua di Parma toiletries in the bathroom and many rooms were in a dark, private annex around a hidden corner that seems like is no longer in use. It's too bad that the quality has definitely gone down (I guess it should be expected after a decade), but it's still one of my favorite, standby places to stay in Venice. I love the location, which is off the beaten track from the downtown crowds and mazes but still very easy to walk to from the central train station (about a 15-20 minute walk depending on the crowds).

I was here in February for Carnivale season and it's still solid: clean rooms with big bathrooms and a quiet location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I've never had any complaints here, except when the room rates practically triple in the summer and during Carnivale, but that's what happens all over Venice.

What a great hotel. With many options in Venice we picked this hotel based on friends staying there previously. The hotel reception was warm and welcoming and the staff were really helpful. The room was amazing with the old beams on display. The room had real character. The only small issue is the hotel is about a 40 minute walk from the main areas but if your happy to walk it, them there is plenty to see on the way. Overall an amazing hotel with great and helpful staff.

This hotel seems to be off the beaten track but when you get your bearings you realise you are not far away from anywhere. We had two rooms both of which were very nice if a little dark but that was not a problem. The breakfast was very good although no hot food on offer but that did not stop us having a good hearty breakfast to set us up for the day.A very well appointed hotel with great staff, would not hesitate to return a fantastic break.

Cannot begin to describe how beautiful this hotel is. Arrived by water taxi from a cruise ship, our bags were in the hotel before we looked round. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, views of the canal were fantastic. St Marks Square was only a 20 minute walk away, the nearby restauarants were of excellent qaulity and far less expensive than those aound St Marks Square. The hotel itself had a bar and serverd light meals that could be eaten outside. If you are visiting Venice then this hotel is a must

Loved the location of the hotel as was out of the busy main attractions but not too far to walk to them. Breakfast was amazing!! Continental breakfast but all fresh and very well stocked up.
Our room needed abit of refurbishment, the walls were damp and has brown marks on them did raise it to reception they said they'd come and look but never did, but we was never in the room so didnt matter too much.
The reception staff were amazing, helped us plan our trip to Verona even printed the train timetable off for us. There are some lovely little restaurants near by which are so much cheaper than in the main attractions! Overall loved our trip to Venice and the hotel was ace & very well positioned for the actv boats!

We stayed in this hotel 9th-12th August. We arrived about 11am in about 32 degrees heat although our room wasn't ready the staff readily tended to my wife providing cool damp flannel, they then prioritised our room preparation took our cases whilst we went for a short stroll.
On our return our room was ready, a large comfortable room air conditioning TV and en suite. Was surprised no kettle and bar prices rather high, but supermarkets are close by and so are local bars that are a lot cheaper. These are the only faults and small ones at that in short, quiet area, near cheaper bars, supermarkets and pleasant and attentive staff. Would happily have given 5 other than the two small faults feel 4.5 more appropriate we will definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: We were in the main hotel and the rooms we saw were all very nice

For a very moderate price in high season, this hotel, conveniently places in Cannareggio Sestiere, not far from the Railway Station and the car lot, shows a very high quality. Reception was very kind, professional, helpful. Spacy rooms, clean and well equipped welcomed us. A slightly aged bell boy escorted us and showed us everything that was needed.

The hotel is slightly off the high streets, which is a plus. There is no shouting, no pushing, no sweating your way up and down the bridges. Fronting a low-traffic canal it has the right atmosphere, reinforced by the Moresque style of the rooms (Mori = Moores). Despite we stayed only one night, it is definitely a hotel I can recommend.
