“Perfect for my needs”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Located relatively close to the train station down a quite corridor off a main pedestrian street. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. My single room was small but not much time should be spent in it anyway if you're in Venice. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. It had a very nice charm about it. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Hotel Caprera was very nice, and very close to shopping and food eateries. The owners were very nice, and it was clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was good and enough, and I would definitely come back to this hotel again.

The location of this hotel was definitely convenient...near the trains and ferries, and the owners are very nice. Prices were outrageous in the summer (300 EU for most), so we tried this one at around 120 EU. Well, we got what we paid for even though it wasn't cheap. The condition of the room and bathroom left much to be desired. There are also lots of mosquitoes! We couldn't open our windows because of this, and no working A/C, so it got extremely humid. The room reminded me of a Motel 6 quality. This is fine if you are backpacking through, but if you want a romantic getaway, spend the extra money.

Not a real fancy place but really handy to everything that was going on. Forgetting that Venetian streets are little more than lanes we almost missed it on our first pass.Luckily the sign is easy to see from the main road. We chose this hotel for its proximity to the bus station and the cruise ship port. Rooms are basic but nice and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were on the first level up and the evening staff took our bags up for us. Being off the main thoroughfare it was quiet at night except for the chatty neighbours, early evening. Breakfast was nice. They arranged for a porter to take our bags to the "people mover" on the morning we left.
Enjoyed our stay there.

Stayed for 2 nights in october 2012, good clean little hotel. Convenient location on the main street from the train station – but the hotel is not smack facing the main street. Being down a little side corridor seemed to make it much quieter. Breakfast was sufficient and the staff was pleasant. Wifi worked great on my 1st floor room. Don’t expect fancy - this isn’t a 4 star hotel - but it is nice, clean and a good price.

Myself and two friends in our mid 20's stayed here for three nights in September. It's a great little budget hotel. Our room was on the second floor and after the initial struggle of getting our bags up the two flights of stairs as there are no lifts, we were really pleased with the room. Very clean, separate bathroom, a cupboard with space for hanging and a desk a swell. Lots of mozzie's and we didn't find the insect repellant till the last day, so is a good idea to keep the windows closed at night. Breakfast was 5 euro for a selection of cereals, fruit ,pastries, juice, yoghurt, tea and coffee. Hotel is a short walk from the station, no need to lug your stuff over any bridges, just look down the alleyways till you find the big red Hotell Caprera sign.

Area is quite safe and in easy distance to lots of shops and good restaurants. Good half an hour walk to Rialto Bridge and then San Marco Plaza, however I believe the best way to 'see' Venice is to wander through all the streets to find hidden places so it wasn't a hard nor boring walk. Venice itself is not known for a huge party scene but we were able to find some cute little jazz bars. Hotel Caprera requested we were back by midnight anyway as they the, locked up the lobby.

Overall very happy with this find, great location, place and price.

After we got over the shock of the bordello red bedroom, our stay at this hotel was comfortable. Room was clean and more than adequate for our three night stay. Most of the reception staff are friendly and helpful, except for the older gentleman who was on in the afternoons during our stay. He was rude and decidedly unhelpful, recommend you save your questions for the lovely ladies at the desk. Buffet breakfast was cereals / fruit / croissants/ rolls , meat and cheese , all fine for a kick start to the day.
