Owner description: Near the iconic Bridge of Sighs resides one of Venice's most elegant glass showrooms. Stunning chandeliers and vases vie for attention, but prancing horses in all sizes and prices steal the show.

This is a nice way to break up the day and see where the glass factories are.. We took a 3 island tour for 20 Euros each, well worth it if not just for the boat ride alone.
The glass factory on Murano was interesting, small and a real touristy thing to do. After a short presentation of glass blowing they ask you to go upstairs to their air conditioned show room to looks a piece on display from the local artists.. Beautiful items but very expensive. Grab some smaller items on the way out for 10-20 Euros for gifts,,
The two other islands were a short boat ride away and was nice to see some other small towns and thier local shops..

The glass that they make is amazing! They also make beads for pandora braclets that are absolutely beautiful. I was told that if the price is around 10-15 euro that it is a real silver bead. The only thing is that they dont "thread on" like real pandora but look beautiful between the ones that do. steer clear of any being sold for under 10 euro because I was told they are cheap reproductions made in China. ask them if they are and they should tell you tho

Hard sell and you are made to feel like you are a peasant if you don't buy there is Murano glass all over Venice only go if you want to see a two minute display of the glass making before you are given the hard sell

The factory is literally the first thing you see when you step off the boat. We went in and saw a great demonstration on how they make the glass, the guys made it look really easy but there was obviously skill involved!

There was a tip pot which we put a couple of euros in and then we were brought round to the glass showroom. Sme of the stuff in there was incredible and very delicate. We were asked if we wanted to buy anything but didnt feel particularly under pressure and were very clear it was all out our budget!

The rest of murano was very pretty and definitely worth a wonder around if you've made the long boat trip to get there. My only criticism that is that as it is away from central Venice if you are short of time the long boat trip out there may not be worth the 3min demonstration!

Factory workers show how their famous glass art is made. Beautiful pieces are offered in their gift shop, in prices that cater to all budgets. They also wrap pieces very well, which made it easy for me to transport on the plane.
