We had a really lovely stay here in the suite with a view of the canal. We decided to splash out a bit (if you'll excuse the pun) and go for the biggest room as we were travelling with our teenage daughter; a king size bed, double sofa bed and two bathrooms were ideal accommodation. The room was spotlessly clean and serviced to a high standard every day. The staff were lovely - very friendly and polite - and couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is in a great location, not far from all the amenities but far enough to get some peace and quiet. The only thing that was a little odd was the tiny breakfast room - we thought it was still a little cold to eat outside (we were there at the end of May) but the breakfast room was too small to accommodate all the guests. However, breakfast was very nice and plentiful with excellent coffee. Our flight home wasn't until later in the day, so the hotel looked after our luggage while we took one last look around Venice and then let us use one of the bathrooms for a wash before we set off to the airport. Would stay here again if we went to Venice.

We arrived in Venice at 10:00am after a nightmare train journey and followed the directions to the Hotel Ca' Dogaressa. It's fair to say that our first impressions from the outside were worrying (most buildings in Venice are a bit grotty on the outside!) but once we entered the lobby and were welcomed by a charming young man with bottles of ice cold water we began to think we may have made the right decision. We knew that our rooms would not be ready until later in the day but the hotel had said in advance that we could leave our luggage with them. Having completed the signing in formalities we were shown to the roof terrace overlooking the canal and left to recover from the journey. When we returned later in the day and were shown to our rooms we were amazed. I had opted to pay extra for a Junior Suite with canal view and the only word I can think of to describe the room was palatial! A huge bathroom (with bath), king size bed and a lounge area all beautifully decorated and with marble floors. Our companians had a standard twin room and this was equally well set out and imaculately furnished. Breakfast next morning was served outside by the canal and was excellent with croisants, fresh rolls etc. The position of the hotel could not be better, in a quiet area but less than 100 yards from three vaporetti stops and only tem minutes stroll to the railway station and water bus stops on the Grand Canal. It is difficult to express how impressed we were with the Ca' Dogaressa and the friendly and helpful staff. To give one last example of the staff, on the day we were leaving we left our luggage at the hotel to be collected later in the day en route for the station and when we got to the hotel there was a table set up for us in the shade near the canal and we were given free cold drinks! A fantastic hotel in a beautiful city!

Room tip: Pay extra for a Junior Suite with canal view

Hotel Ca' Dogaressa was lovely. Venice was completely packed - almost impossible to enjoy near the tourists spots, but our little personal canal with it's cafes gave us a great sense of and appreciation for Venice. Local Venicians were all around us - eating at the cafes, walking their dogs, boating down the canal.

The rooms were spacious, cool and beautifully decorated. A large marble bathroom with a tub and shower head worked well. We were a family of four adults and had plenty of room. Our room (5) looked onto the canal, and had shutters that could be closed at night to keep out the light. Breakfast was generous and lovely, served along the canal.

The Hotel is a nice walk from the train station away, and very near the Jewish Ghetto which was definitely a highlight for us. The Rialto Bridge and San Marco square were just too darn crowded for our family, but our hotel neighborhood was delightful.

We stayed at Ca' Dogaressa for 5 nights in July and had a wonderful time. The hotel is facing a canal and the rooms are tastefully furnished and very clean. This is a family owned and run hotel and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast is served on tables along the canal and it is very interesting watching people going to work and making deliveries from the boats and barges. There is a roof area where you can sit and watch the canal life go by which is nice of a night. Another great hotel.

I spent quite sometime looking for a hotel in Venice and I'm so glad I chose this one.

The rooms are just as they are pictured amazing!, we stayed in a normal double for one night and one night in the junior suite (its worth the extra cost!)

Breakfast next to the canal was fantastic and the staff are great and very helpful, I received a 10% discount for paying cash which was a very nice surprise. I will stay here again if I'm in Venice again and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone else. Enjoy.
