My wife and I enjoyed a thoroughly wonderful time at Al Teatro. This jewel is tucked behind the Theater and sits on the corner of two canals. Eleanora is absolutely wonderful in her communications before, during and after our stay. She gave us precise directions, because until you are familiar with the surroundings the thought of finding something on a side street is daunting. Upon arrival, our room was perfectly clean, the bed and mattress were wonderful. They do have a flat screen television with satellite, but frankly, we never turned it on. With three sets of windows facing four canals, the entertainment was just below as the gondolas would drift by with either guitar, accordian and vocalists. You are literally just a five minute walk or less to St Marks square. Eleanora knows the restuarants and all the locals. When we took her advice for restaurants, we had a wonderful meal. When we thought we knew better...we didn't. They provide internet access via a wireless network that worked quite well. It allowed us to share emails and pictures. Her breakfast sent you off ready for the day. We often would not stop our sightseeing to eat until at least 2pm after her hearty helpings of grains, pastries, meats and cheese. She had juices as well as an excellent coffee each morning. There are only three rooms in her home - and the other guests were very friendly. The entire room and bathroom appear to have been recently refurbished and all works well. There was not a question regarding holding or keeping our reservation - her communication skills are just that good. The cost for us was 150 euros and she prefers to be paid in cash. We chose to leave by overnight train to Monterosso our last evening, and there was no problem with Eleanora having us leave our luggage to pick up later prior to departing for the train station. This was truly a fulfilling and memorable time, and Eleanora and her Al Teatro Bed and Breakfast contributed to this substanially.

Eleonora and staff treated us great . . . as part of the family. A brief walk off the "beaten path" through Venice, and the quiet overwhelms you as you approach. Breakfasts were quiet and relaxing, with an opportunity to visit with the other guests. Stayed in both the green an amber rooms . . . recommend the amber for the unique balcony view.

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights in this family run B&B.
The room was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and had all facilities and amenities needed. It was bright and sunny and had three windows overlooking the canal. The room was very reasonably priced for Venice, for its position and for the quality of the room.

The hotel is centrally located to the Accademia bridge, St Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge close to many cafes and restaurants. There is a vaporetti stop close by to help with transport to and from the main train station. The directions were very simple and the hotel was easy to find.

Our hosts were very helpful and it was great to have a quiet place to return to after long days of sightseeing.

We will recommend this B&B to our friends.

There are several factors that contributed to an excellent at the Al Teatro B&B.
The Room: Seemed to be a traditional Venetian home spruced up with the modern comforts of Air-conditioning , sleek bathroom fittings and Sky TV. It was spacious too with a huge wardrobe.
Breakfast: Our hostess served excellent capuccino and provided generous and tasty portions of bread, preserves , cheese and fruit.
The Hosts: The hosts spoke English and were extremely helpful and polite. We needed to catch an early flight and the hosts researched and gave us accurate ,step by step instructions to reach the airport as inexpensively as possible.
Location: Although it is located in jam packed San Marco, the hotel itself is situated on a calm street next to a canal. No, the canal did not smell nor were there mosquitoes (though that could be the season) . It was a 5 minute walk to the nearest vaporetto stop and 2 minutes to the ATM.

If you want to go to heaven, then stay at the Al Teatro when you visit Venice......it's wonderful! Large rooms that look out on the canals and the Maria Callas Foundation Opera House, convenient location, easy to find, gracious hostess -- Al Teatro has it all! There are only 3 rooms, but Eleanora has plans to enlarge with 5 more rooms, so book early for your trip. If we are lucky enough to visit Venice again, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

My husband and I stayed at Al Teatro for 3 nights, 5/6 - 5/09/07 prior to a 10 day Greek Isle cruise. I based my decision to stay here
from the reviews of others on this website. I was not disappointed. We stayed in the Amber Room which has a nice soaking tub. Breakfast is very nice and Elinora is lovely. The location is excellent. Although if one is taking a cruise and has lots of luggage it may be wise to use a water taxi - we used this to go to the port . The cost was 70 euros, although high was worth it to us. Elinora helped with arranging this and everything went very well on embarkation day. I highly recommend Al Teatro,

We (my wife and myself) booked Al Teatro for 4 nights based on the the Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. So easy to find in a quiet location only 2/3 minutes from the Vaporetto stop and only a 4/5 minute walk from St Marks Square.
Eleonora and Fabio made us very welcome. The room was more than adequate, very comfortable, clean and spacious, likewise the bathroom. With 2 sets of full length double doors opening out onto a small balcony overlooking a canal we even had the dubious pleasure of listening to gondoliers singing to their fares. The continental-style breakfasts lived up to our expectations being appetising and plentiful and served with fresh capuccino - our choice.
We rarely return to places we have visited, only those that meet, or exceed our expectations. I am pleased to say that we would definitely return to Al Teatro which is great value for money.
