The B&B is easy to find (thanks to great directions from Elonora) and in a quiet location but very central (5mn from San Marco), room (green room) is great with views from the canal and Breakfasts were fantastic...delicious fresh croissants YUMMY!
What makes the difference is the incredible welcome and advices we received from the owner Elonora. She went overboard to help us plan our days, helped us with the essential rubber boots (compulsory in the high tide season!) and recommended us fantastic places to eat (cheap and so very typical venitien). We had a great 3 days thanks to her as we did not really prepare our trip before but she helped us by recommending where and when to go. Venice is beautiful and Elonora really shares her passion of the city with her guests.
We had everyday a great time sharing our days with her and the other guests.
She made our experience unique of Venice and we feel ever for thankful for making this trip a great one despite one day of torentual rain and a flooded Venise!
We will come back !

After almost two weeks of traveling around Italy, we finally ended up in Venice for three days. What a change from all of the other places we had been, and B&B Al Teatro only enhanced our visit! As others have mentioned, the B&B is situated on a very quiet little street that doesn't see much foot traffic. It is very easy to reach by vaporetto, and just a short walk from the stop. The location is so fantastic, it is very close to St. Mark's Square so we spent every evening there listening to the orchestras.

We were lucky to book the Amber room which I believe is the largest room and has a balcony overlooking a canal. It was very comfortable, clean, and had lots of space! Eleonora is a fantastic host. One of the highlights of our stay was having breakfast in the morning with the other guests of the B&B. Eleonora had great dining and day-trip suggestions for all of us, and we able to share our stories of what we had done the day before and what we were planning for that day. We wouldn't have gotten back to the airport without her help!

B&B Al Teatro is an excellent place to call your "home" in Venice; next time we are there we will be staying with Eleonora again.

Room Tip: If you can get the Amber room, it is the largest and has a balcony overlooking a beautiful canal.

We stayed at B & B Al Teatro for 3 nights in September and would say it has an excellent location, easily reached on the vaporetto on a quiet street. We had a large room which was on the canal and had many gondoliers and boats come by singing and playing musical instruments. Eleonora (our hostess) was helpful with giving us maps and asking everyone at the breakfast table what they would like to do that day. She would write down directions for everyone as to what vaporetto to take to Murano, Burano, etc. It was near the end of her busy season, but nothing was a problem if you had any questions.

The room was bright, clean and very big. There was no elevator and you had to climb up a long staircase to the second floor, which wasn't a problem for us, but might be for older people or people with health issues.

I don't really have anything negative to say about this B & B.

My husband and I recently returned from Venice where we had stayed at this B & B for 2 nights. The location is amazing, within 5 minutes you are in St. Marks square. Even better, when you arrive by vaporetto you reach this B & B within a few minutes-no bridges to lug your luggages over, just a quick walk down a few little streets and you arrive. The B & B is situated on a quiet canal where every afternoon you hear the gondoliers singing as they pass by. You really feel that you are in Venice. Definately beats staying outside of Venice and having to bus it in. Eleanora was there to welcome us. She is friendly, helpful and professional. She even ordered us our water taxi as we had a really early flight. Excellent restaurants are close by. I was really hesitant to book a B & B as we usually stay in 5star hotels but we really wanted to experience Venice as it should be seen. We loved our stay and would definatley return. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the selection at breakfast which could be considered ample by some but came up a bit sparse as you could not even have toast. Be prepared to climb a flight of stairs but definitely worth it once you arrive. Also, definitely one of the most comfortable beds we slept in during our two week stay in Italy. SUPERB VALUE FOR THE MONEY. Gratzie Milles Eleonora. Nina and Guy

This B & B is superbly situated in a quiet street which is easy to get to from the vaporetto ( a godsend when you are dragging suitcases around!)
It is on a canal and every afternoon the gondoliers come past singing and playing their piano accordions, which is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and have air conditioning...which is very important at night time when the mosquitoes appear and you have to close your windows! It is close to great restaurants, all within walking distance and St Marks is just around the corner.

Eleanora is there to welcome you (which doesn't happen in all B & B's ) and she is very friendly and helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again. Book the room with the balcony if you can. That way you can sit outside and enjoy watching the gondolas passing by.

Room Tip: Check that you your room has aircon and isn't situated above any restaurants or near big hotels...

My family -- including two kids - stayed here for three days this summer and had a great time. All four of us shared a large room with a lovely balcony and a nice view of a canal. It also had good air conditioning, which we needed in the hot August weather. Eleonora was very helpful in giving us directions and recommendations for seeing what we wanted to see around the city. Breakfast was ample and Eleonora was always available to answer questions, give advice, etc. The only downsides were that the wifi was spotty and even when it’s working, you can only connect one device at time - so my husband and I couldn’t both use our laptops at the same time. Also, no elevator, so be prepared to carry your stuff. All in all an excellent value for a nice room in a convenient location and with the benefit of guidance from a native Venetian.
