We stayed here for two nights in August 2013. Although we had a little trouble finding it (don't be cheap like me -- take a water taxi straight to the door and save yourself from the experience of getting lost while jetlagged!), it was in a great location in Venice. I splurged for the canal view room, and quite honestly did not benefit from it because the curtains were pretty heavy and I just never pulled them back! The rooftop is very romantic. I believe we woke up too late for breakfast, but there is a tasty and inexpensive osteria just down the block. I would return, but would opt for a cheaper room.

Room Tip: Canal view was nice, but I don't think it was worth the money.

Our hotel is called Hotel Ca'D'oro and is a perfectly central location. The Ca'D'oro district is full of shops and an old basillica but isn't jammed packed with tourists, and only 5 stops from the Piazza Marco Polo and San Marco Basilica. It was one of the hotels I could find with good disabled access and it really was excellent. The ground floor of the hotel was all level access without cobbles and our bedroom was in an annex by the water entrance so I didn't even need to use the lift. My PAs room was on the second floor but it was just as beautiful as our deluxe room. The bed would have been problematic with hoist legs so we would need to bump the bed higher, but we didn't want to pull the hoist on and off the vaporetto even though it is possible, so we are just using the ProMove for transferring again. The bathroom has good accessibility although a little narrow.

I really liked the location of this hotel. It was just off a main walking area, but quiet. It was also only the second stop on the boat from the airport, so it was easy access to the airport as well. It was probably a 10-15 minute walk from the main square....especially navigating the hordes of tours and tourists.

Venice was our last stop in Italy and the crowds had worn us down by then. It was nice to be a step back from the action because Venice was no exception to the crowds.....in fact...it was packed! The room was the smallest we had in Italy and probably the most expensive, but I think that it the price you pay to stay in Venice. They were nicely furnished and had all the amenities you would expect. The breakfast was simple, but similar to everywhere we stayed.

The hotel is in a very quiet location, but within easy reach of all the main sites. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is adequate, but not outstanding. The standard rooms are smallish and the beds are on the firm side.

We spent only one night here on a two day visit to Venice. This hotel is off the beaten path which is wonderful after maneuvering through the crowds of the far more popular places. The hotel has charm of several centuries ago. Loved the beamed ceilings, the shutters on the windows were cool as they turned down and gave the room a very charming effect. The air conditioner worked well which was surprising in such an old hotel. We arrived slightly after check in time and were given the key to the room immediately with no wait. We had a canal view on a lower floor and could see the boats from our room. Breakfast was adequate and nice that it was provided in the downstairs area and was offered as late as 10:30. The room was quiet and we were not interrupted as we slept even though our room was located directly off of the elevator. The staff was very helpful in allowing us to leave our bags there the next day so we would not have to carry them around with us while shopping and sightseeing. We picked them up only before we headed to the Train Station which was not a long walk. The staff also allowed me to use an electrical connector since our camera ran out of battery. We charged it enough to get those last minute pictures along the canal. They were very helpful and their service was much appreciated.

A haven of peace in the wonderful madness and charm of Venice. This was the first time we'd been to Venice and the hotel was just what we wanted. Our view from room 204 was absolutely perfect overlooking a quiet back canal with picturesque houses, bridges and boats, and our shared water taxi from the airport was able to drop us off right outside. My only gripe was that the breakfast coffee was tasteless and the orange juice way too sweet - both from a machine - but the fresh fruit and buffet made up for it and we stopped for some great coffees around Venice. It's a short walk to the vaporetto stop, the Rialto bridge and lots of trattorias.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with canal view - 204/206 great.
