The Hotel Ca D'Oro is ideally situated for exploring Venice. Located centrally and a three minute walk to the Vaporetti (Water Bus) stop at Ca D'oro, it couldn't be a better base to explore Venice from. The Hotel is situated in an old building on the edge of a canal. Some rooms have views over the canal. The inside has been modernised, but retains the Venitian style of furnishing. The lowest price rooms are small, the 'luxury' rooms are larger, but are all very clean, with ensuite bathrooms.
With only 27 rooms this is not a large Hotel and has a friendly and helpful staff. The buffet breakfast has a good selection, although the dinning space when busy is cramped, but this is Venice where space is at a premium!
Finding the Hotel can be a problem, the entrance is just an opening off one of the many narrow passage ways into a courtyard, and understanding the inexplicable house numbering system that the Venitians use.
I would certainly recommend this Hotel as a mid priced Hotel that is considerably better than many others in the same price range.More
