The place is located in San Marco about 5 minutes walk to Rialto and San Marco square on the opposite side. The lobby is small and there are no lifts/elevator so it will be a bit of a struggle to carry luggages up the narrow staircase.

Other than those things everything else is a plus. The breakfast is OK and you could have them bring it up at a time that suits you. Got free internet access and the room we stayed in was spacious, clean and well maintained. The staff are very helpful and can speak English well that we do not have any communication issue.

All in all, I found our stay very enjoyable and will definitely keep the place in mind when we come back to Venice.

Casa Cosmo was the ideal blend of location and budget for us. It really is right in the middle of Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge - a 5 minute walk to either. But despite its busy location the guest house is a quiet refuge on a side street, so when you go back to your room it's a nice calm place to sleep. It is a family-run business and everyone was very pleasant. David came to meet us at the Rialto waterbus stop and walked us to the door. We had a triple room that was fairly spacious. No view, but with the sights so close by, who needs one? Also, The wifi worked well, and the breakfast is brought up to your room, which ts a nice touch. I would recommend this place.

This lodging house has a great location - at one end of the street there is a canal with waiting gondaliers and at the other end you are in the main shopping area. Very near to St Marks Square and the Rialto bridge but also a great point from which to explore further afield.
Our room was spotlessly clean and lighter and brighter than it appeared in the photos.
The Cosmo family were very welcoming and helpful.
Having read reviews before booking we were fully aware that breakfast would be prepacked and had fairly low expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised by the selection of toast and cakes etc.
We found this lodging house to be a little haven we could return to away from the mayhem of Venice in high season ! Top tip - there is also a roof terrace where you can eat lunch rather than paying to sit down in a cafe (expensive)
We are a family of four with children aged 11 & 13 and we all shared a family room.
We all agree that we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location. They do a ok breakfast and the rooms were clean. However this hotel is a 3 star at best. You will not be impressed by the room or the lobby. The staff was helpful and nice. But I was hoping for a bit more charm and was underwhelmed by the tiny, dark lobby and the very basic room. There is wifi and as noted the location of the hotel is central to the Rialto Bridge and San Marco. A little tricky at first to find but it is in a quiet alley which is nice especially with all the crowds in July.

Room Tip: Try to be on first floor as the other floors have steep steps up to them and if you are carrying lug...

Recommended by Rick Steves and Trip Advisor. We chose this over several other hotels because of the high percentage of very good and excellent reviews. Upon walking in I was a bit surprised; this is a very small establishment with a very dark reception area. However, rooms were a good value, location was phenomenal (less than 5 min from Rialto and San Marco), bright and airy, good air conditioning, small roof top terrace with no view at all). We skipped breakfast and went to some places near San Marco which we frequented. If you want a full service hotel dont go to Cosmo, but if you want helpful staff (brother and sister team!), great location, reliable good quality room and service, everything worked, then this is agreat choice. Would stay there again. We were 6 - 4 young adults and 2 parents. shower, air conditioning, everything worked, very safe and secure.

We stayed two nights at Casa Cosmo. The triple room was very nice, and the air conditioning worked very well. The location is incredible -- 5 minute walk to either the Rialto or the Piazza San Marco. Venice is very confusing, but Davide met us at the vaporetto stop when we arrived and walked us to the hotel, which was very appreciated. The breakfast was just packaged foods and the bathroom was pretty narrow, but we had a great stay. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel was perfect! The room was enormous and the bathroom shower was huge aswell! The hotel staff were so lovely and very helpful aswell!
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment consisting of pre packaged foods! The stair case is steep and there is no lift, so big bags might be a problem!! Fantastic location, two minutes from St Marks square!! Overall presently surprised!! Would difinately come back!!
