The Palazzo Rosa is a lovely little gem of a hotel in a great location in Venice. It can be slightly difficult to find the hotel but once inside it is really nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the decor is old but it is very quaint. The room had a great view of the river outside. Breakfast delivered to the room was a nice touch and the food was good too. Air con was perfect. Overall in comparison to other hotels in Venice this was of great value and I would recommend it to anyone, just don't go expecting a 5 star hotel. Great location too, less than 5 mins to Rialto Bridge and water boats.

Room Tip: The first room beside the breakfast room was lovely, the shower leaked but an extra towel can sort i...

The rooms were terribly old a dreary. Of course, Venice is old but there were things falling apart in the rooms! The shower door didn't close properly so water went all over the bathroom floor. When we told the manager he said he already knew and gave us extra towels to put on the floor. Breakfast was minimal and the hotel hard to find. A real disappointment for the amount you pay.

Dirty rooms, mildew in the bathroom, and hair on the toilet - welcome to Venice. Lost something and looked under the bed to see if it was there, dust bunnies everywhere. Front desk told us we had to pay cash because there credit cards were all filled up - huh? Hadn't been cleaned in well over a month. Smells like rotten eggs day and night, A/C doesn't really work to well so you'll sweat at night. Took Tylenol PM to get a good nights sleep. Would not stay here again if they paid me.

Room Tip: Don't go

The hotel is old (like Venice!) and with decor from 1980's.. .but the rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. We had a family room with a queen bed and two twins. The owner is very nice and makes you feel at home. They have free wi-fi and delicious croissants for breakfast.
The hotel is a great value for the price!

Chose not to have breakfast and were thus, moved into a separate building, located far away from the canal (ie. no views) and also, reception (ie. staff). True that the room displays Venetian-home features: wooden beam ceilings, paintings, deco & furnitures from 17-18th C. but definitely gave us a haunted feeling (walls have eyes, etc) during the first two nights of stay (we stayed for seven, unbelievably).

FOR THE PRICE WE PAY... Utilities & services are either USELESS or non-existent. Ancient box-TV displays no channels at all; old air-con is central-controlled and did not turn on till the last 3 days; furnitures are worn-out; double-bed consists of two cranky, single-beds with loose metallic frames; no fridge; toilet spatial configuration is so tight that we must sit side-ways in order to take a dump; showerhead is semi-broken and filled with filth; locks and hinges of door and windows are crookedly old; the safe is so rigid that it provides all but the idea of safe retrieval. Not to mention, our door had been left unlocked for a whole day after the cleaner made up our room (after the first night). On the following days, we hooked on the DO-NOT-DISTURB sign but still found that access to our room had been made - honestly, this goes beyond just professionalism. What else: phone reception is poor; 3G network fails within its walls (as no WiFi is provided); and it heats up like a sauna during summer. Other than the fair location and cooling balcony (that does not oversee anything), this hotel does not fulfill its over-priced services. What made us even more disappointed was that we found a wonderful-looking 4-star hotel that actually seemed 'professional' (it actually 'looked' like a proper hotel), right across the street - for the SAME PRICE!!!

Never again, at Palazzo Rosa.

I stayed at the Palazzo Rosa with two of my friends at the end of April and found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and typically Venitian, exactly what we wanted. The hotel is tucked away, in the centre of Venice (about 5 mins from Rialto Bridge) but didnt take long to find.
The room we were given was a large room for 3 which had tall ceilings, a beautiful bathroom and an incredible canal view. We were given the option of breakfast in the room which we had every day. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. We came back one evening planning to have a drink (bought at the local shop) in the breakfast room overlooking the canal, before going out again for dinner. The member of staff on duty that night was extremely helpful and provided us with glasses, napkins (even offered to make us tea/coffee)and we were able to stand on the balcony watching the world go by. Something I would suggest everyone takes advantage of.

I would recommend this hotel to all visiting Venice

Stayed in the annex building. Biggest issue was no wifi. what is this 1999? had to seek out places that offered wifi and ended up going to lobby of main part of hotel to do some research for our next move in our trip. other than that, convenient location. reasonable price. very very quiet at night. no water views. no breakfast included in annex housing, which im sure had been mentioned when i booked, but i had forgotten about it by the time we actually checked in and they told us that. Va bene.
