My husband and I booked this for our wedding anniversary and were delighted with the location of the hotel and we didn't even find it too hard to find. The room was clean and functional.
Breakfast was lacking - no hot dishes and selection limited. The mini bar in room was also extremely sparse.
The helpfulness of the staff varied; one guy was always happy to help while it seemed a great deal of effort to the other and he even managed to get our wake up call for the airport wrong!
However, bearing in mind that it was only a 3 star, it really was value for money so I would recommend it for travellers not expecting too much luxury but just need a clean, central place to stay.

Unlike a reviewer below, we found the hotel very easily with the directions and map printed off of the hotel´s website, and we arrived at 1am!! Remember though, for Locanda Correr, you check in at Hotel Castello, just down the alleyway - there is a sign on the entrance to Correr that tells you this, so you have to double back on yourself (only a few paces).
For the money, this hotel is perfectly located and, as we found, really handy to have a little stop off, toilet break, wash and brush up (or siesta) during the afternoon before setting off again. Our room was large with high ceilings, very clean, old-fashionned, Venetian style décor with walls covered in traditional cloth. Bed was large and comfortable (although my partner found the mattress to be too hard for him), shower was powerful enough and hot. Wi-Fi connection was excellent and fast, safety deposit box was easy to use. There is a nice little communal lounge area just outside the rooms which we used for having a drink and looking into the courtyard. The breakfast was simple, but plentiful - some tinned fruits, yogurts and cheese and meats made a change to the carb-heavy breads, rolls and croissants that is usual in Venice. Morning staff were friendly and helpful.
Downside - we arrived late at about 1am and they had no exact record of our booking (thru Booking.com). They had a booking for 4 nights, but no name attached - the night porter was a bit confused to begin with, but said everything would be sorted in the morning.....which it was and done efficiently, without hassle. I have to say, all the staff were very friendly and helpful and everytime we saw the night porter after that, he was concerned to know that everything was ok.
The approach to the hotel is dark, dingy, dirty and a bit smelly at times - it´s basically a narrow alley that is the back of various businesses, restaurants, etc so gets piled up with litter and empty food boxes. Once you close your eyes (and nose) to that though, you can move on. No view as such from the bedroom - quite enclosed and not private.
Overall, though for the price compared to some other places, I would stay here again.

My fiance and I were originally booked for the Castello, but they shuffled us over to the Locanda Correr a few doors down the alley. I wish I had insisted on a room in the main hotel we booked, but at least the front desk service at the Castello was nice enough, fairly helpful - they allowed us to check in early, and had someone carry our baggage down the street and up the stairs. (Although they forgot the wake-up call I scheduled for the morning we were leaving, which could have resulted in us missing our plane, had we not happened to wake up early purely by chance.) The room is extremely small, and what looks like a large bed is just two smaller mattresses pushed together, which occasionally slide apart when you're sleeping. Other than that and the size of the room, it was pretty average, no major problems - just not as nice as we hoped.

We didn't have huge expectations because we weren't planning on being inside much. We hoped to do lots of exploring and use the hotel mainly as a home base to go back and forth from, but their key policy is frustrating if you're planning on coming and going. You must leave your room keys with the Castello front desk, so it was irritating to have to keep asking for them every time we want to get back in to change or drop off our things. Eventually the night staff told us to just keep the keys with us.

Overall it was an ok experience, good location, and everyone was pretty friendly. Just an annoying key policy, and small room.

I was really surprised by this little hotel as I was not expecting much from a 3 star hotel in Venice.
Although it's not a cheap option, the hotel room is clean, relatively new, bathroom is modern but small and all in all a very nice place.
Check-in is at the Hotel Castello (about 10 meters away) but this wasn't a major problem. Breakfast was not great, but good enough. The usual continental breakfast.
Not a good choice for travellers' with limited mobility as we had to climb a lot of stairs to get to the room.

We spent 30 minutes wandering around the neighbourhood trying to locate the hotel, even local restaurants hd never heard of it!!! Only a street vendor knew it and gave us a clue as to where it was! When we got to the Hotel Locanda Correr, we found a message directing us to the Hotel Castello and we were given a room there and therefore did not actually stay at the Locanda Correr.

The hotel is literally within few minutes walk of San Marks Square and was comfortable and full of character, with antique furniture which gave it a lovely atmosphere. The room was not huge but clean although the bed was very firm and not overly comfortable, although the excercise you have to take walking around Venice guaranteed a good night's sleep! The staff were helpful and spoke excellent English - ideal for lazy British tourists!!! Breakfast was adequate although the dining area was a little cramped.

We thought that it was expensive for what we got, but bearing in mind the location and the very high prices in gereral in Venice, not bad value overall.

Room Tip: Difficult to find - Request an upgrade as a resul.

The location is superb, and -- for Venice -- the price is reasonable. The English-speaking staff were very helpful from check-in to check-out, and the room was clean and comfortable, although quite cramped. (The in-room fridge was also pretty devoid of anything worth eating or drinking.)
As others have noted, it is also extremely difficult to find. Neither the address on the website nor a google-map of the location could make up for the fact that neither the street it is on nor the nearest cross-street have the same names on their street signs as what appear on the maps. If you have Rick Steves' guide, his directions are accurate. Once having arrived, you should also be prepared to climb two long flights of stairs and navigate a total of three locked doors.
Small complaints aside, I would still recommend this place and return to it if I were to return to Venice.

Bottomline: Great location, good value

This hotel was a five-minute walk from Saint Mark's Square. It was in the center of exactly where you want to be on a trip to Venice. When we stayed in March it was about $120 a night, which was a great value for that location. The room was small and simple, but comfortable enough -- about what you'd expect for the price. But it was clean and felt safe, which are my main two requirements when staying at a budget hotel. It was quiet and had a private bathroom.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel for someone who wants to be near the major sites in Venice without paying too much. It was wonderful to be able to wander -- and dance through -- St. Mark's Square late at night, knowing we were only a couple minutes walk from our beds. I would definitely stay here again.
