Venice Hidden Gems Tour Including Gondola Ride

We took a Gondola ride after sundown. It was peaceful and serene. We were carrying a bottle of wine and some eats, and thoroughly enjoyed the 40 minute ride. Our gondola guy told us about some of the buildings from time to time. At 80-100 Euros it is a little bit on the expensive side, but then again its an experience you're not likely to forget :)

It's romantic and lovely...By the way, you are guaranteed to get a lot of impressions. Look pretty city and the gondolier tell you some interesting stories. However, it is quite expensive, fortunately, you can bargain with the gondoliers, they do it very willingly. You can reset price almost half, seriosly!

When in Venice you must take a Gondola ride but DO NOT use the Stazione Gondole Danieli!! They are located right in front of the Hotel Danieli. You begin your tour in the rough Sea (my hisband thought we were going to tip over) and then it goes under the Bridge of Sighs - the only nice attraction - then the gondola travels through all the worst areas; abandoned buildings, smelly water, etc. The highlight - looking at crabs on the walls of the buildings. Our Gondolier was also awful - he pointed out the Bridge of Sighs and then never spoke again. We asked a few questions and got "yes" or "no" as a response. He may not have been able to speak English. Ride was only 30 minutes but it felt like an eternity. Very disappointed first Gondola ride ever.
We only went with this Company because it was pre-booked through our travel agent. Our agent made it seem like if we didn't book they would be sold out when we hot there. NOT TRUE! There are Gondolas everywhere you go.
We would recommend booking your Gondola ride when you get to Venice. Ask them where they will take you, make sure your Gondolier can speak English, and begin your ride in a quiet place. We saw a nice area if you walk through St. Mark's Square, with the Basilica to your back, go down to the end and walk through a street on the right. It will take you to a small quiet area with a bunch of nice looking Gondolas. I would give these a try next time or I would even recommend a ride down the Grande Canal so much more to see!

Gondola and venice go hand and hand. very romantic way to spend with your loved one. Rides are 80 euros before 7:00pm. Choose a pretty gondola to impress your loved one.

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with a Mediterranean cruise. We departed from Venice but arrived there prior to the trip.

We took a gondola ride while we were there and loved it!! It is pricey but worth it! We had a gondolier named Georgio and he gave us a complete tour and pointed out all of the sites. He was quite familiar with the city and gave us a wonderful experience!! I loved this experience and would suggest that everyone take a gondola ride should they visit the romantic city of Venice!
