We have just returned from a 5-night break in Venice, where four of us (two couples) stayed at the Ca' Dei Nomboli, rented through Views on Venice. We all thought the apartment was excellent. It was spacious and airy and overlooked the bridge over the Rio di San Polo. It is on the first floor of the building and there is no lift (two flights of stairs). It has a dining area leading to a sitting room, and two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, both with showers (one has a walk-in shower and the other a bath with shower over). The beds were very comfortable. The apartment benefits from very efficient air conditioning which is virtually silent and this was very much appreciated on the hotter days. The kitchen is small but is well equipped and has a Bosch hob and oven, a dishwasher and a large fridge/freezer. There is a laundry room on the ground floor with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Doors to the two bedrooms and bathroom when closed create two private en-suite areas which are ideal for two couples or a family.
The apartment is very centrally located in San Polo (within easy walking distance of the Rialto and St Marks Square). Traffic on the canal starts at around 7am. There is some noise but this is only to be expected as in any city. There is an excellent little supermarket (the Conad) literally 1-2 minutes walk from the apartment which stocks everything, and has a very good deli counter and a good selection of wines and spirits.
The only negative comment we would make is that one of the two sofas in the sitting room is a sofa bed and, as with all sofa beds, it does not make for very comfortable seating.
We were all very impressed with Views on Venice. They booked a water taxi to collect us at the airport and we were dropped off literally around the corner from the apartment. We were met by Christina who took us to the apartment and checked us in. On the second day (a Sunday) the plug in the kitchen sink got jammed in the plughole and we were unable to dislodge it. We sent an e mail to Views on Venice to inform them and stressing that it was not urgent as we had the dishwasher and a large bowl we could use for washing up if necessary. However, they sent a plumber out the same afternoon who fixed the problem while we were out. We were very surprised that someone would come out on a Sunday! On the last day we did not need to leave for the airport until 1pm, but we were allowed to leave our luggage in the ground floor laundry room until then, although check out was at 11am.
We all agreed that if we were to return to Venice, we would not hesitate to book the Ca' Dei Nomboli again and can recommend it (and Views on Venice) to others wholeheartedly.

This was our first visit to Venice and the Views on Venice team did a great job of making it easy for us. They gave us explicit instructions for taking the Vaporetto from the train station to the San Toma stop near the flat. We were met by a representative as we disembarked from the Vaporetto, and she helped us with our bags on a walk of only a few minutes to the apartment. She explained how things worked in the property. It was very roomy with ample closet space. Though we ate only occasionally at the flat, the fridge and dining room were ample, if a bit confusing in terms of having plates and utensils at one's fingertips since the kitchen and dining room were not near each other. However, this was only a minor irritant and in general, our stay couldn't have been nicer. It is well-located and when the shutters are closed, very quiet. Laundry is in a locked room downstairs so though not as convenient as having it in the flat, it created no noise issues. Thanks to Views on Venice for ensuring a memorable stay.
Ca' Dei Nomboli had everything. Starting from a fabulous booking agency - VIEWS ON VEINCE - who did everything and more. They lined up the water taxi at the airport, met us at the drop off point in Venice with the key and maps and delivered a spotlessly clean property. The spacious 2 bedroom apartment had recently been renovated - new bathrooms, new plastering and paintwork, plus new floors. Throw in tasteful decor and you have the PERFECT place to stay whilst in Venice. I forgot to mention a large living room with windows overlooking a canal and a brilliant, convenient location close to Rialto, the vaporetto wharf, and just about everything else. You'd be hard pressed finding its equal for far more money. We know, we looked!
