Description: "Known to locals as 'La Poppa', this buzzing watering hole has a great wine list and cocktail selection (€3.50-6), including the Zaza, a mean house speciality involving copious amounts of rum and fresh ginger. One of the few venues in Venice offering live music (early evening on Wednesdays), Osteria da Filo is crammed with a young hipster and alternative crowd. On Wednesdays, arrive early to grab a comfy sofa or seat near the stage; alternatively, squeeze yourself in at the bar. The music ranges from traditional swing to contemporary jazz with local and international acts performing. The staff are friendly and the mood convivial" - Lonely Planet

This was my favorite bolt hole for a week. Warm, cozy, low lighting and good drink. Perfect way to rest your feet and wait for Ae Oche to open.

This was the first place we stopped at after checking in to our hotel in Venice. The vibe inside the bar was cool and relaxed. We had a few glasses of wine (1 euro each) and some free snacks.

My husband I stumbled across this small bar and jazz space while we were staying nearby in Venice. We walked by it on two nights and the second night we decided to stop in. Each night the place was filled with young locals hanging out and it looked like a fun, decidedly non-touristy place to be in the evening.

They offer a wide variety of wines by the glass and the prices start at 1 euro and go up. They also have a variety of bar snacks. We had a couple glasses of wine and bar snacks (the hummus was really good) - it was our favorite night in Venice.

I highly recommend this bar to anyone who is looking for something that's a little more local and less touristy.
