Six nights in early October and what a fantastic stay we had. Positioned half way between Rialto and San Marco with everything you could want to do is only a short walk (or paddle!) away.
The staff were truly excellent - friendly, courteous and couldn't do enough to help.
The bar was relaxing and well run and the 3 evening meals we had there were authentic Italian and top quality (fish dishes recommended) and also very good value compared to what was available elsewhere in town.
Possibly the best breakfast we have had in Italy, compared to similar hotels in Florence and Rome.
Will go back when funds are topped up!!

Room Tip: Although we had a fairly basic room ('comfort') it ticked all the boxes. Overlooked a small...

This is a great hotel not just because it has great rooms but because the staff are excellent. I have never experienced such wonderful friendly service. I highly recommend this hotel to you, within a minute or so walk to the Rialto bridge and about 8 minutes to St Mark's Square (if you don't stop to look at all the great shops along the way). Get a Private water taxi (motorscaffi) from the airport direct to the door of the hotel - we just paid at the taxi desk at the airport on arrival, 120 euros to go direct to the hotel door(although they offered 30 euros if we would agree to share with others and get dropped off a minutes walk from the hotel). There is a long walk to where all the water taxis are lined up, its very busy and confusing but once I showed our direct private taxi ticket we were directed right to a waiting taxi, lots & lots of other people were queuing and waiting to share the other water taxis. Hotel has a great restaurant (I could only manage a main course and a desert - recommend the chocolate truffle desert), there is also a nice candle lit bar which is good place to retire to after your meal to finish off with a coffee and a liqueur ( an amoretto liqueur is recommended). There is a library on the ground floor so if you are like me and can't sleep at night you can go downstairs and sit comfortably to read one of their books. Breakfast starts at 7am and its a really good selection. I love this hotel - if it is your first visit to Venice then stay here and you won't go wrong trust me. ( You can get a gondola ride from the Rialto bridge at 80 euros for 40 minutes, they will reduce this to 30 minutes when it is busy, they are all friendly and the gondolas follow a set circular route around a couple of blocks. You can also buy your water bus ticket for the vaporetto service at the Rialto bridge, recommend you get a 12 hour use ticket for 18 euros and you must stamp it at the machine there once you decide to use it - it will give you 12 hours of vaporetto use from stamping it, much cheaper than buying individual tickets. One last thing, Venice is about walking and exploring, make sure you have comfortable walking shoes, its a must!!)

Wow, this place is gorgeous and the staff couldn't be friendlier! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything was perfect... the rooms, the restaurant, the breakfast, the bar, the courtyard and the best... the wellness spa, it was divine! We had 2 rooms, the classic for our adult son and his girlfriend, which was plenty big enough and had a bathroom to die for. We had the Junior suite with our 8 yr old daughter, huge room with canal views and just beautiful. Would definitely stay here again! Just love Venice :)

Room Tip: Canal views are lovely

My wife and I celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary with a fantastic 5 night stay at Ai Reali. Our Junior Suite Room 310 was amazing! The customer service was top notch. We were welcomed with Prosecco and cookies upon arrival, flowers and a bottle of Prosecco in our room, beautiful 2 room suite over looking the canal, bathroom marble was phenomenal, service in the bar was terrific, and breakfast was great! Let me not forget the Lobby Service (i.e. arranging water taxi's, restaurant reservations, etc...) was perfect. This hotel went all out for us and we can't wait to come back to Venice and stay at the Ai Reali again!

Room Tip: Suite 310 is excellent!!!!

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in August 2013. We had a fantastic time! It was like we were in "The Tourist". The hotel is situated in a very convenient place near de Rio Rialto, the most famous ponte in the world. The surrounding environment is serene at night.

The hotel is grandiose. They have an elegant lobby and its own landing point for water taxi if you like some style! The library which is a lovely place just on the right hand side after you entering the hotel. The bedroom is well designed and decorated in its Venetian style fitted with a marble bathroom. How gorgeous is it!

For the breakfast, the passing gondolas outside the window as backdrop made us feel like we were in the "Three coins in the fountain" or "Casanova". One night we had a dinner in the hotel restaurant. Five star quality from food to services! Highly recommended!

I will definitely go back next time.

P.S. my partner just reminds me of one minor flaw that they don't have post service, meaning you have to send your postcard yourself! =)

My husband and I rented 2 suites, for ourselves and our daughter and her husband, for 3 nights in late September. We were impressed with the beautiful decor and tasteful color schemes throughout. Our black marble bathroom was absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't see my face very well in the mirror, however, since the lighting is not sufficient, although everything is brand new (The hotel isn't quite a year old yet). The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were top quality. Even though we had a large living room and quite a large bedroom, there was no bureau. The drawer and shelf space are limited and a chest of drawers would have been appreciated. The Rialto vaporetto stop is just a few minutes walk away. San Marco square is a slightly longer walk, and one has to go through some narrow, dark alleys to get there - perhaps a little scary late a night. But over all, other than being on the Grand Canal with a canal view, or on Shiavioni with a view of San Giorgio Island, this is a very handy location. Although we had rooms on the water, we were up too high (suites 309 and 310) to really see the narrow canal without leaning our heads out of the windows. What we saw from our windows was windows of the adjoining buildings. I want to mention that Sergiu at the desk was very helpful to us, and he was friendly and smiled often. We enjoyed the breakfast, but one would expect a good breakfast for the high price. Actually, we had even better breakfasts at the 2 other hotels where we stayed in Northern Italy. And they were less expensive, but then, one expects to pay a lot in Venice. We enjoyed our dinner at the hotel. It, again, is high priced, but not really very much more than a lesser place. And another restaurant where we ate, although the food was excellent, had sky high prices in comparison. We noticed that the restaurant never seems full. Perhaps people just don't know that it is there yet, since the hotel is new. The bar in the outdoor courtyard is a breath of calm in the midst of crowded, noisy Venice. We enjoyed drinks there. Again, it was usually almost empty. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates luxurious surroundings.
