“Ideal Hotel for a Venice Stay”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

This hotel is ideal if you are coming to Venice by train as it's only a short walk. The neighborhood is also very quiet and peaceful and their garden is a wonderful place to relax and just listen to the boats going by. Rooms were very comfortable, modern and clean. The staff was outstanding. You really can't ask for more in Venice.

It lived up to its trip advisor rating. At the time of checkin, complimentary wine and great patio to hang out on to the clean modern rooms.

The dinning room served excellent food and service (Alex) was exceptional.

This was a 5 Star experience for us

We stayed 2 nights in Venice and this was the prettiest out of all our hotels during this trip to Italy. We were welcomed with a complimentary drink and cookies upon arrival. Our room was on the second floor. We had a room with one of the two balconies available at the hotel, which was a nice bonus. I was also happy to see bathrobes and slippers in the bathroom. I booked our reservation through the hotel's website and was able to get a bottle of prosecco included with our rate, which was delivered to the room sometime in the early evening while we were out. Overall, a very comfortable and nice stay.

However, I was disappointed at check-out time. We had a 7am flight so we checked out around 4:30am. The employee at the front desk was no where to be found at this time. My husband started calling out, 'hello!', then a man emerged from the sofa in the lounge area. I was willing to ignore that this was unprofessional for him to be sleeping on the job, since I can imagine the night shift would be rough but he was very rude and unfriendly checking us out. I assume he was too dazed to try to be friendly to us. We had told the front desk the night before what time we were checking out. Someone could have given this man a heads up about that! I read other reviews of guests who had an early flight and were given cute, little bags filled with some breakfast goodies. Clearly that was not happening here for us. Wish we could have ended our stay here on a more positive note. So, I will take just 1 star away for that incident.

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Moresco. The decor was beautiful, def had an moroccan feel (my favorite). The hotel is located a few blocks over from the bus station, this location was very helpful. The complimentry breakfast was also nice. The staff was very frendly.

My only complaint was, our room was on the 1st floor- and when guests got back late they were very loud waiting for the elevator, I would recommend a room on a higher floor next time.

Room Tip: Request a room not on the 1st floor

I highly recommend the Hotel Moresco to any traveller looking for a warm, easy and welcoming stay in Venice. Highlights included an excellent breakfast service, great staff, a good sized comfortable room; all within a stones throw of Campo Santa Margherita, a great place for dinner or lunch. Also within easy walking distance of the Stazione if your bags aren't too heavy to carry up the steps encountered on the 3-4 ponti encountered along the way. And a good spot to launch a 4-5 km r un once you have your bearings.

Room Tip: Our room didn't have a view of the canal, perhaps it's only failing. But there are rooms tha...

We just returned from having spent 3 nights at the Hotel Moresco. It was a little more pricey than we are accustomed to spend on accommodations - but worth every penny. The hotel itself is gorgeous - tasteful and very luxurious. We appreciated the neighborhood - it offers peace and quiet from the congestion of Venice. You won't go hungry there. The breakfasts are full - beautifully prepared and you can eat to your heart's delight. They leave pastry, fruit, and bottled water in the dining room throughout the day, so you can nosh as needed. Relax in the den with your snack, and you would swear that you have ascended to nobility. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable - all first rate materials. The bed and mattress were so solid that they did not make so much a s a squeak when laying down. The bedrooms are classically Venetian in decor - but also outfitted with the most modern conveniences - for example, flexible LED reading lights on both sides of the bed, wall mounted flat screen tv, and ultra modern bathroom. The hallways are gorgeous - marble, handsome woodwork, and coffered ceilings, with very nice pieces of artwork throughout. Perhaps our favorite thing about the Moresco is the warm and professional staff. They obviously take pride in providing such a high level of service - and they genuinely enjoy their work. The only negative that I can think of is that the bedroom was a little small. In light of all the other positives - it hardly mattered.

Room Tip: I didn't see any of the other rooms. Ours faced the West on the second floor overlooking the can...

We liked this hotel very much! It is a very good location for ingress/egress and quiet. We took a taxi from the airport and then walked 200 yards over a couple bridges. The room finishes are very good including a nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. We enjoyed the courtyard for a drink when we first arrived. Service was good. The hotel repsponded promptly to my e-mails prior to arrival and made two dinner reservations for us. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Pick a room near the front if you want a view of the canals.
