This was first time to Venice and I was thrilled with Hotel Moresco. From the moment we arrived through to checkout the service was superb! Upon our arrival we were greeted at the front desk and while he was checking us in, he suggested we wait in the garden and sip on a complimentary drink. Lovely after a very long journey from New York! After about 15 minutes (the garden is beautiful, we would've stayed longer) Alex, our waiter, showed us to our room. While tiny, very much like an NYC hotel room, it was clean and beautiful. It was also cool with the AC! The free wireless was excellent as was the complimentary breakfast. My only complaint would be the bed. It was very hard, only reason I gave this four stars! Even with that I would choose to stay here again if I returned to Venice. Alex and the entire staff make the stay comfortable and perfect!

This hotel was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. they offer great breakfast and fresh fruit. It is about 10 minutes approximately walk from the train station but I recommend buying the vaporetto pass for the length of the stay so you can visit all main attractions in the islands. It is a bit pricy but all Venice hotels are. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Room Tip: We had a canal view room, but it was not what I expected since the cross the canal building was not...

Booked this hotel via booking.com as was highly rated on tripadvisor. Went to Venice using the train so managed to walk to the hotel directly from the train station, which only took about 10 minutes. However, there are about 2-3 bridges to cross and when carrying heavy luggage, can be a bit of a struggle.

The hotel itself is in a pretty area and when checking in, there is a complimentary drink in the lounge which was much appreciated given the struggle getting to the hotel! Their special carrot/orange/lemon juice is really refreshing and available during breakfast as well. Breakfast selection was pretty limited but they do have eggs to order, which was the good part about breakfast. The hotel also made some good restaurant recommendations that were within walking distance.

The room itself was spacious but the ceiling was low and the bed was not the most comfortable. The bathroom however was very nice. In the room, there was a letter from the hotel stating the activities that they can arrange for you like gondola rides or trips to Murano island or tickets to the Interpreti Veneziani. We tried to book the gondola ride but was not able to as we were a couple and there was a minimum of 3. It was slightly confusing as to how it all works out. But we did book the tickets to the Interpreti Veneziani which was really good value.

The location of the hotel is close to the train station but quite far from other places like San Marco square or the Rialto bridge. Walking to San Marco square takes about a good 30 mins and we tried taking the Vaporetto to San Marco sqaure, which also took about 30 mins.

Overall, this was a good hotel to stay in for our first time in Venice.

We found the Hotel Moresco to be just what we wanted; close to the train station, away from the busy tourist areas, and close to plenty of canal side dining options.
This is a sleek hotel. It is very handsomely appointed. The staff were both friendly and helpful. Our room was ultra modern. The bathroom was big; definitely the nicest of any of the hotels we stayed in during our European vacation. And, the garden with outdoor furniture for breakfast and/or lounging was a breath of fresh air!
When we arrived in the late afternoon we were escorted to the garden area and served fruit drinks and some very tasty dessert. The setting was very welcoming; the kind which not only encourages you to relax but linger. Ten minutes later we were escorted to our first floor garden view room. Here we were given a detailed orientation about its various amenities - something we had never experienced before.
We stayed at the Hotel Moresco for two nights. Our breakfasts were excellent. Besides fruit, yogurt, cereals, and juices we had our choice of some delicious dessert items. In addition, we were treated to delicious scrambled eggs and bacon.
This is another hotel we wouldn't hesitate to recommend. While there were no canal, church, plaza, or museum views, the Hotel Moresco exceeded our expectations for luxury, service, food, and beauty. All around, it was a real gem!

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room with a garden view. You won't be disappointed.

Venice is a busy place to be, and we immediately felt this on our check-in as all rooms were delayed that day. Thankfully the hospitality is great, and we were offered drinks and crisps in the lounge while we waited. Its usually a chore to wait for your room, but the embellishments around the hotel serve as a lovely distraction. Hotel Moresco oozes with style and elegance, and complements Venice very well.

Our room was pristine, elegantly decorated and even had a high ceiling. If slightly larger, these rooms wouldn't feel out of place in a 5-star establishment. Noise was minimal even considering our room was close to the lobby, and there is a decent TV albeit with a lack of English channels. Fortunately the TV can read USB media, so I recommend bringing a USB stick loaded with your favorite shows for bedtime viewing.

The breakfast is quite light so don't expect the usual bacon, eggs and beans. You will have to adapt to the Italian way at breakfast, as they serve cold meats and prosecco. For those inclined to start their day sideways, prosecco is Italian sparkling wine.

When leaving the hotel, you will find the train station is only 10 minutes away on foot and 15 minutes if you're carrying luggage. Though we had trouble finding any sort of 'hot-spot' in the city, we never felt any issue with the location of the hotel. There isn't much in the immediate surroundings, but you will be happy to walk in this iconic city.

Venice has a high turnover rate of tourists, but the hotel still maintains a reasonable price. Though it feels small and homely here, the staff don't quite bring that feeling home. They will greet you just half of the time, and don't seem too interested in getting to know your story. Personally this doesn't bother me, but it is something they could improve.

In the end, it seems like you get a lot for your stay when you consider how well embellished and squeaky clean the hotel is. This is not just a hotel, its also a showcase of modern design and Italian beauty. Venice is a beautiful city, so it only makes sense to stay at a beautiful hotel.

Room Tip: If you want to be able to walk out the hotel in 10 seconds, ask for the room closest to the lobby.

Stayed on 16th of August 2013. A truely fantastic boutique hotel. Beautifully decorated and furnished with a lovely little garden to have breakfast. Quiet surroundings, yet only a 2 minuite walk to Pizzale Roma. An abundance of Taxis waiting there to take you to airport, or in our case cruise terminal (20.00€). Staff especially friendly and welcoming. The Walk to St Mark's Square takes around 30 mins, its a pleasant walk with lots to see en route. Alternatively, you can take water taxi right outside hotel or vaporetto 5 min walk. We paid extra for room with a view, It was worth it !! It's been a while since we have enjoyed a stay as much as we did at Hotel Moresco.
