It is more like a private residence with rooms. We had a room on the ground floor, which was really lovely, nice furniture ,spacious and with every amenity.Breakfast was delivered to your door,I assume as there was nowhere else to have it.Reception was a small desk on the 2nd floor.
However ,if you are wanting a special place to stay close to St Marks Sq ,look no further.

Room Tip: Once you have located it ,it is just as easy to get a boat to St Mark's and walk a few steps mor...

Small and intimate, in an old building, right on a canal, yet with all conveniences. We stayed in room 104 overlooking a canal. There was a good sized bedroom with a comfortable bed, a sitting room with sofa and dining table etc., and a spacious, modern shower room. Complimentary hair/body wash, body lotion, soap, shower cap and shoe sponge, so for one or two nights not much to bring. The hairdryer was full size, efficient, and sited next to a decent mirror - ladies will know what I mean here. Continental breakfast in a small, charming breakfast room, and room service up to 9pm for any additional teas/coffees/drinks etc. It is a bit tucked away (but easy to find on a Venice map) and maps are available wherever you get off the vaporetto. There are several ways to get there, all of them charming, with interesting shops, cafes and restaurants along the way. Despite the numerous alleyways and narrow streets it is entirely safe. To get to the Hotel from Treviso you can pay for a coach ticket online (ACTV), print the receipt, which you then exchange for tickets at the ACTV desk in Arrivals. It would be just as easy to buy the ticket at the desk. The coaches are easily found just outside arrivals, and are scheduled to coincide with Ryanair. Get on the first one for speedier departure. At the bus station you have a choice of Vaporetti lines to get you to San Zaccharia (or San Marco - there's nothing in it). Some are slower, stopping at every stop (Lines 1 & 2) - others at just a few (4.1 and 4.2). Obviously the vaporetti stops are not in the bus station but close by, but I just asked and most people spoke English and were more than helpful with directions. You buy your ticket at the stop, and then flash it on a parking meter looking thing to validate it as you board.
We had a lovely stay at the Schiavoni (pr. Skiavoni, as we found out!) and can highly recommend it.

If you want a nice and peaceful hotel not very far away from San Marco, then Palazzo Schiavoni is the place. Old and yet modern inside, We had a Little trouble to locate the hotel at first, but once you have learned to find you way, then no problem. Everyone in the hotel is nice and very serviceminded.

3 nights in Venice is PLENTY! I would not advise anyone to stay more than that. 2 days is a little rushed, but 3 max for sure.
Our guided tour through Avanti of Doge s Palace was great!!! The tour guide (a nice man) was awesome. Worth it!!!
Other than that (briefly) we took a tour of Burano,Murano, and Torcellini for 20e each...did a shared Gondola ride for 30e each and did a guided tour of the Grand Canal for 30e ( I would not rec the grand canal). Besides that we walked all around Venice and saw St Marks, went into a huge tower, Rialto bridge etc.
The Hotel- breakfast was good. Coffee was bad, but order a cappuccino. conceigeres seemed very uninterested but that was totally fine w us bc Venice was so easy to navigate and we didn't need their assistance. And the hotel was beautiful bc it was overlooking the water and was far away enough from all the noise. Nice and quiet- I def rec this Hotel to others. A++

Not sure I can add much to the other reviews except that this is the 2nd time in 2 years we have stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and would stay again. The location is so convenient and nothing beats waking up to the noise of the activity along the canal and the church bells ringing. My parents and in laws also stayed here on their travels mid year on our recommendation and weren't disappointed.

This hotel was perfect for us two parents and two teenage children 14 and 15 in room 106, overlooking the canal. Very clean with two rooms and a middle 'living room' with a Settee and table with 4 chairs. Delightful staff who were really helpful, despite it being the end of the season. Great location with a local feel and good restaurants close by. We are really critical and honestly none could be found here. A gem, thanks to all the staff, a really perfect end to our European tour. We would highly recommend it.

Our family of five spent two nights in one of the apartments at Palazzo Schiavoni at the end of our week long trip to Rome, Florence and Venice. Our apartment was ready when we arrived (early afternoon), and was very nice. Two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a loving room with a third bed. Overlooked the canal. We enjoyed having an apartment with a kitchen, and took advantage of it by buying lunch supplies at local produce shops and bakeries. If you don't plan on using the kitchen, however, it is probably not worth renting an apartment as the cost is about the same as two rooms and you will only have one bathroom. The apartment was very clean and the staff was friendly. Quiet part of town, away from the masses of tourists. As others have mentioned, if you stay in the apartments, you are provided with fresh rolls. The kitchen is stocked with butter, jellies, and orange juice. You do not have access to the breakfast room.
