the hotel is very close to the means of transport by land - main and only bus and train stations-, thus you can just walk with your suitcases to the hotel, it takes only 5 mins and (only!) 2 bridges to cross and no need to take an expensive water taxi.
venice is a very expensive city accomodation-, food- and anything-wise! this is a fair cheap place to stay. the economy rooms were very very basic, but if it is not the hotel you come for to venice, it is a great place to stay.
good croissants for breakfast!
they are obsessed with leaving the key at the reception whenever you leave the hotel especially the receptionists of the night shift.

Room Tip: economy rooms on the top floor are very basic+ no elevator

If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay in Venice that's clean, fairly quiet, located on a decent canal, and within a few minutes walk to the train station, then this is the place to stay.

We stayed in a room for two nights that was located on the canal side, a floor just above the reception area. While the room was small (as we expected it to be), it was fairly comfortable and fairly quiet given it's location. The room we had did have a TV (we didn't bother to turn it on). The air conditioning wasn't the best but good enough. The complementary breakfast was really good as we enjoyed the coffee, juice, bread, and croissants. The hotel staff was receptive and friendly as well. I'd recommend this place given it's location and price.

I was there in Dec'11 on my honeymoon. Its just really good hotel. Small but very nice room. Very very helpful staff. They gave their reception PC to use and take some printouts. Love the complementary breakfast. Really good!! Very centerlised located and near to most of the things...

We were in the economy room on the top floor with only a small window. The room was small but everything was fine. The air conditioning wasn't the best but was adequate.

Arrived and left by train and the hotel was only a pleasant walk away from the station. The canal is very attractive and full of character with good value eating and drinking options nearby. As others have mentioned here I would recommend Bacareto da Lele and Trattoria in Campeio which are both nearby.

The man in reception looked a bit tired and weary, but was very helpful when we asked for advice.

Overall. good value for money.
