Not exactly what I imagined a 3-star hotel would be. If back in the states it would classify as maybe a half star. The staff was not pleasant and could care less about anything. No lifts so you have to haul your luggage up several flights of stairs. The rooms were tiny and dingy...however we only spent our time sleeping here. WiFi only worked in the common areas.

On a positive side it's in a quaint neighborhood. It's just a short walk to the Rialto Bridge. Besides the hotel, I really enjoyed this neighborhood.

You need a place to stay that is not luxurious, that is near the bus and train terminal, that has lots of restaurants nearby and that takes you easily to the main Venice attraction, then this hotel might be a good place for you! The building is very old, but it was nicely redecorated and rebuilt. It's a funcional, quiet, clean and wellcoming hotel.

On our first visit to Venice in May 2013, we chose to stay at the hotel because of its proximity to the city centre.
Upon reaching the hotel we had to climb a flight of around 20 steep steps with our luggage and after having done that, we were disappointed to be greeted by the lady at the reception. She had a sour face and spoke rudely to us and did not even bother to listen to what we had to say. She just wanted to finish off her work and gave us a room.
The room was very small and with a bad view. The washroom was also small- little bigger than an aircraft WC.
Further, the WIFI works only in the lobby so if you need to access the internet, you will have to climb down to the lobby area and use it with many hotel occupants sitting next to you, making it look like a public wifi zone!

Further, throughout our stay in Italy and Spain in May 2013, all the hotels were kind enough to provide us umbrellas for a short time- when we needed it due to the rains. THIS HOTEL DENIED US even a single umbrella saying that umbrellas are not for guests. We were totally disappointed with this.

This hotel was in an excellent location about 150 metres from the railway station. However it was expensive and the rooms were not very clean; the breakfast poor, and the hotel had no lift. So lots of stairs to climb. If did have free Wi-Fi but not in the rooms. You had to walk to the reception area.
As I have been to Venice before and stayed in other hotels nearer St Marks Square, I would still recommend this hotel for its location. If you are staying for several nights I would suggest staying outside of Venice and get the bus in each day. I think the hotels will be better value.

We were really pleasantly surprised with this place. We knew that we weren't going to get a trendy boutique hotel - what we got was a comfortable and very clean hotel in a great location with friendly and attentive staff. The en suite bathroom was sparkling clean with a powerful shower and the air con in the bedroom was modern and quiet.

Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.
