“An Absolute Gem of a Place”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

My husband booked it as a surprise trip to Venice after our wedding - the hotel suited the romantic theme perfectly.

The hotel is located a short stroll away from the main bus, train and water taxi stops, about a five minute walk over a couple of bridges and you arrive at a solid unassuming door that masks a delightful courtyard the other side. Each evening there are candles placed on the steps leading up to the hotel lobby that adds to the building’s enchantment.

We were in room one which was of a usual room size, the decor was of a sumptuous Venetian style and very comfortable.
The view out of the windows (there are two) was not brilliant, but we prefer to be out exploring rather than sat in our room when away.
The bathroom was modern with a lovely shower and the room was very clean and serviced daily.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful, giving lots of advise regarding which water taxi’s to catch for where we intended to visit. They organised at the request of my husband for a beautiful surprise bouquet and bottle of fizz to be in the room on our arrival.

They also organised a lovely Gondola ride and for a superb meal at the local restaurant called Ribot as part of the 'Love and Romance' package.
If you do not decide to add this package, I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant that is literally a few doors along the street. It was by far the best meal we had during our stay in Venice – and we had plenty of nice meals!

The continental breakfast was of a very high standard, the pastries were mouth-wateringly delicious and evidently fresh and there were various coffees on offer (latte/cappuccino etc) with re-fills offered. Breakfast is served in a room off the entrance lobby that is decorated in the same comfortable Venetian style that was in our room.
Breakfast is self-service so you can select what you wish to eat, and very relaxed and informal which we found perfect.

I highly recommend this hotel as a perfect base for any couple wishing to explore Venice (Venezia), and would definitely choose to stay here again.

We staid two nights in a quadruple family room with view on Venice roofs. Nothing to say, from the arrival to the departure the staff was very kind, lending us boots to visit because of the alta acqua. Rooms are clean and breakfast is qualitative. We loved this little hotel whith familial atmosphere, feeling like at home. The location is very interesting as it is only 5 minutes by foot from piazzale Roma. I recommand it to those who are found of authentical adresses.

We arrived in Venice by car and we were realy tired. When we found the Palazzo Odoni I admit I was worried about which would be the conditions of our room, considering how old is the (beautiful) building. Then we had a very pleasant surprise: an quadruple family room, completely refurbished, spacious and comfortable. A lot more than we expected to find in a place with a lot of restrictions like Venice.
Two great features:
- the breakfast is wonderful. An espresso coffee machine ready to offer you a great caffelatte or a cappuccino (maybe two). There was a superb caki panacotta, which was alone worth our stay.
- ask for a town's map and try some of the 9 recommended restaurants. We ended up trying two of them (Da Oniga and Da Ignazio) and we found great food at very reasonable prices. And, even better, not overcrowded with tourists.

Location was very great for us, considering we were very happy to be in a less tourist packed area of the city. But it doesn't mean it was far from anywhere. In fact it is very close to the train station, in front of a canal with easy access to anywhere in Venice.

An excellent place to stay which certainly helped to make our days in Venice some of the best we had in Italy.

Room Tip: There are no lifts. So if you have heavy luggage, ask for the lower floor. In any other case, the up...

My wife and I really enjoyed your hotel in Venice. We selected the Palazzo Odoni because it was relatively close to the train station and bus stops, yet it is still far enough away to enjoy the quiet ambiance of Venice. We loved the old world charm and the staff was very nice. The breakfast was great and we looked forward to it every morning. One of the best things about the Hotel is after having a very nice breakfast, we would open the door and we were instantly in Venice.
