My husband booked it as a surprise trip to Venice after our wedding - the hotel suited the romantic theme perfectly.
The hotel is located a short stroll away from the main bus, train and water taxi stops, about a five minute walk over a couple of bridges and you arrive at a solid unassuming door that masks a delightful courtyard the other side. Each evening there are candles placed on the steps leading up to the hotel lobby that adds to the building’s enchantment.
We were in room one which was of a usual room size, the decor was of a sumptuous Venetian style and very comfortable.
The view out of the windows (there are two) was not brilliant, but we prefer to be out exploring rather than sat in our room when away.
The bathroom was modern with a lovely shower and the room was very clean and serviced daily.
The staff were fantastic and very helpful, giving lots of advise regarding which water taxi’s to catch for where we intended to visit. They organised at the request of my husband for a beautiful surprise bouquet and bottle of fizz to be in the room on our arrival.
They also organised a lovely Gondola ride and for a superb meal at the local restaurant called Ribot as part of the 'Love and Romance' package.
If you do not decide to add this package, I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant that is literally a few doors along the street. It was by far the best meal we had during our stay in Venice – and we had plenty of nice meals!
The continental breakfast was of a very high standard, the pastries were mouth-wateringly delicious and evidently fresh and there were various coffees on offer (latte/cappuccino etc) with re-fills offered. Breakfast is served in a room off the entrance lobby that is decorated in the same comfortable Venetian style that was in our room.
Breakfast is self-service so you can select what you wish to eat, and very relaxed and informal which we found perfect.
I highly recommend this hotel as a perfect base for any couple wishing to explore Venice (Venezia), and would definitely choose to stay here again.
