We first stayed here in May of 2012 and had a marvelous stay. The room, the hospitality, the breakfast and the location were all fantastic. We made the mistake of staying at the Boscolo in the fall of that year. We will be returning to Palazzo Guardi in the fall of this year, 2013, and we have sent friends there last year and they were equally delighted. Grazie mille to Lucio.

Room Tip: We like the Accademia room that is on the small canal but there are also some great garden view room...

We stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon in July 2012, we had a room in an annex which was very private and lovely. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was very spacious and air conditioning was good.
Breakfast was a little limited and there were a few bedrooms with doors that opened onto the breakfast room, which I wouldn't have wanted to stay in personally due to noise.
Location is good, as Venice is easy to walk around the whole of by foot, was a little difficult to find at first though!
Would definitely recommend, good value for money.

Lovely and traditional... a perfect venetian experience. Locate near Piazza San Marco, easy acces to almost all the city, the room is huge, the view amazing. Staff were helpful and friendly. Really good.

I stayed with my wife for our honeymoon anniversary at Palazzo Guardi in October for 4 nights. Our room was a dream, waking up and see the canal was fantastic. during the night was a little bit noisy the street under but was not a problem for us, and they explain us that in the city is normal, it is a problem for all.
We enjoy so much our short stay, we would like to came back.
Thank you to all the staff :)

This was our second stay at Palazzo Guardi and the positives so outweigh the few negatives that I can't see us not staying here again when we return to Venice.
As others have noted, finding Palazzo Guardi is not that easy. The main entrance is off a tiny narrow alleyway that runs from the San Trovaso Canal to L'Accademia and even though we had stayed here several years ago, we still walked past the alley twice before finally circling in on it.
However, once you've found it the rest is pretty easy. We stayed both times in the annex, which is another building on the canal. We were quite impressed with the decor and the size of the rooms. Our rooms this time were on the second floor at the top of the first stairs, yet noise was never a problem from others entering or leaving. The room had two large windows facing the canal and a good sized bath too. Just through the door on the first landing is the breakfast area. Mornings a decent offering is laid out, with bread, rolls, meat, cheese, yougart and some fruit, tea and coffee. It's nothing extraordinary but just fine for starting out your day and comes with your room.
The best part of staying at the Palazzo Guardi is the ease with which you can get around Venice, but still end up in a quiet neighborhood when you want to. In fact, the local neighborhood is terrific. Right outside the annex door was the Taverna San Trovaso, which I'll write up separately, which quickly became our go to place for dinner. Not far away, a pleasant walk on the Zattere, you'll find a small supermarket and AeOche, a fun place to stop for lunch with excellent service and delicious pizza. The only remaining gondola repair boatyard is a short walk down the San Trovaso canal next to the church and probably the most genuine "local" opportunity is just steps from your front door.
At the little wine shop, you can become a local for lunch. Stop in and pick out a glass of wine and then get a plate of chicetti...little tidbits of food that you can pick out by just pointing a finger at the various plates of food. It's somewhat like going for dim sum, but in the lunch time the crowd spills out onto the narrow sidewalk and you can sit on the wall by the canal, catch some sun, enjoy the wine and food with all the regulars...they love it when you try to speak Italian with them too!
Anyway, we loved the location and the rooms are quite large for both Venice and Europe in general. Price is reasonable and we considered it a good deal. If you can do without doormen and fancy lobbies and enjoy the feeling of living in a neighborhood that's not so touristy, this is a good choice for you.
I will add that we have stayed both in the summer and in the winter and the heating and air conditioning is quite modern, so we were very comfortable throughout both our stays.

Room Tip: We have only stayed in the annex building though we hear the rooms in the main building are also nic...

Location although hard to find - as it is located down a tiny lane way - is lovely. Very close to all of the main attractions and good for a walk around the area. Also close to the water taxi stop. Service was seriously lacking... Staff were generally unhelpful and not overly friendly. Breakfast was included but was not fantastic. Probably would not go back here again as value was not there.

We loved the decoration and the size of the rooms. We were three persons and the room was adequate for all of us. It was very clean and warm with a beautiful view on the canal. The receptionist who greeted us the first day was helpful, courteous and smiling. The breakfast buffet is a little bit of a typical breakfast, one variety of ham and cheece, two of musli etc. Next to the hotel (building number two) there is a cosy taverna that serves nice food at moderate prices. It is easy to find from stop accademia and has a number of shops, bars, souvenir shops, churches very close (on different sides). We chose it based on the reviews and photos and we could not expect anything more. It's definately a go go
