“Perfect location, perfect staff, really nice place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

We had not been to Venice before so did not know where to stay or what to expect. We are very glad we chose to stay at Hotel Antiche Figure! We arrived to the Venice Airport and took the easy bus shuttle to town; from the bus station the hotel is an easy 3 or 4 block walk. The view from our room was overlooking the canal which gave us a chance to see how Venice works: we could see bridges, gondolas, water taxis, and the packed sidewalks. Our “deluxe” room was a nice size and the bathroom – with deep tub and special condiments – was luxurious. The bed was huge and super comfortable, and the linen bedding was exceptional. The two best things about Hotel Antiche Figure were the staff and the breakfasts. Everyone was courteous and helpful, and the cappuccino and breakfast started us off on our fun days in Venice very well. We hated to leave!

Room Tip: We were on the second floor with a deluxe double overlooking the canal. While we loved listening to...

We loved staying at this hotel and over looking the Grand Canal. It is so easy to get to if you arrive by train and the staff are extremely helpful. We have no trouble using the water ferries and it was good to away from the craziness of St Mark's Square.

The Hotel was very neat & tidy, we had rooms over looking the Grand Canal the views were fantastic. Our room was very comfortable & clean. The staff were very welcoming & freindly, Breakfast was OK but very basic.( not a big selection ). It was enjoyable having afternnon drinks out the front of the hotel & overlooking the Canal.
Note.. if travelling with alot of luggage organize a porter ( with the hotel ) to pick it up for you. We had to carry ours up & over the walk bridge ( over the canal ) & it wasn't easy.

Room Tip: Please request a room overlooking the Canal. Try for the one with a small balcony.

Everything was perfect. The rooms are comfortable but a bit on the small side.Very close to the train & bus stations and vaporetto. Plenty of good restaurants nearby too.We were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff and provided all of the information we needed to get around, book restaurants and see the sights. Rooms were immaculately cleaned. The breakfast server was so pleasant.

Spent 2nights at this Venice hotel. The staff made our stay very memorable since it was our 40th anniversary and our first trip to Italy. Beautiful location on the canal and convenient to some really good restaurants, train station, water taxis and gondolas right outside the front door. Dummy me forgot her jewelry case in the room-safe but the staff immediately emailed me to ask what method did I want to use for its return. Since I was going to be in Italy another couple weeks I told them to send it the least expensive way but with a signature. Well, my jewelry arrived yesterday with 100% of it enclosed. The breakfasts were delish and room 111 was spacious for a Venice hotel, very clean and had a great view but most of all I will remember the entire staff that couldn't do enough to make us happy and comfortable.

Room Tip: No fitness center or swimming pool....clicked by accident. Room 111 was our room and very pleased...

My husband and I stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon. We had picked the hotel based on the great reviews and because we were arriving from Milan by train and the hotel was ideally located just across the canal from the train station. We were then going on a cruise and again the hotel was perfect given its proximity to the people mover. If you are going on a cruise or arriving/departing Venice by train then this hotel is in the ideal location!

I think to walk to St Mark's Square it was probably around a 20-25 minute walk but it was nice just walking around soaking up the sights and sounds of Venice. The water buses were great too and nowhere near as crowded as I had read they would be in some reviews. Maybe not the cheapest but they are good if you want to get about a bit and there is a stop directly across the canal from the hotel.

However, not only was the hotel ideally located but it was an absolutely fantastic hotel. The staff at check-in were incredibly friendly and took time to provide us with a map and to show us the best routes for getting to the main attractions, how to use the water bus and explaining the various stops and the most convenient routes for where we wanted to go. They had also taken note of it being our honeymoon and congratulated us on that. A member of staff personally showed us to our room and all of the staff we met during our, albeit brief, stay were helpful and friendly.

The room itself wasn't huge but you expect that in a big city and we were only staying for two nights anyway. Even with our cases laid out in the room rather than hidden under the bed or in the wardrobe, we still had enough room to get about. The room was decorated in a traditional but luxurious way and it had lovely furnishings and big high ceilings. We had not paid for a grand canal view but our room had a side view which was perfect (we are not sure whether this room was given to us due to it being our honeymoon or not). The bathroom was a really good size and again, felt very luxurious and had everything you would need and expect.

We only had breakfast on the last day as we are not particularly early risers but there was a great selection of food and drink available and staff explained everything that we could have. Their cappuccinos were made to order and were fab!

On checkout we definitely felt as if staff were genuinely interested in how our stay had been and they organised a porter for us to help take our bags across the two bridges to the people mover (5 euros a bag but well worth it if you don't fancy hauling large heavy suitcases up and down lots of flights of stairs on the bridges!)

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other travellers and would definitely stay there again if I ever returned to Venice.

The rooms service and people in this hotel are outstanding, they could not be more friendly or helpful. The hotel is in a busy part of the grand canal which just adds to the visit! While being quiet rooms, Thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable.
