Cuore is Heart and that explains the warm and cheery property on the Grand Canal in Venice.
Its location is ideal as it's walking distance to most spots of interest, on a vaporeta stop, across the bridge to the Santa Lucia Train terminal.

Each guest room is furnished differently and the atmosphere is cozy and extremely friendly.

Three stars, quiet elegance with bar/coffee area inside and outside, all amenities. So
nice to see traditional linens, furniture and no effort to be anything but Venetian.

Enjoy your visit ! It is like returning Home !

Tanti Auguri,

Susan Barber

We loved this hotel for several reasons: a) we arrived to and departed from Venice by train. The train station is a five minute walk from the hotel, thereby saving the traveller the common €80 water taxi fare each way to a centrally located hotel, b) Michelle and her staff are wonderful and provided a number of tips to enhance our experience in Venice, c) despite other negative reviews, we found the breakfast to be very nice and aren't sure what the others are complaining about, and d) our room was wonderful. Spacious, very clean, overlooking the Grand Canal, comfortable, etc. The only downside to this hotel, although I counted it for me and my circumstances as a plus, is the location. St. Mark's square is a 30 minute walk, the Rialto is 15-20 minutes away, the Accademia and the Guggenheim are 30-40 minutes away on foot. Be prepared to walk. However, this hotel is a 5 minute walk to the first stop on the #1 vaporetto line, thereby assuring you a seat on the boat. I loved this hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: We were in room 412 and loved it. Ask for a canal facing room.

I have read other people's reviews for this property and whole heartedly agree that the front desk is extremely courteous and helpful. However, as soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were informed that we were being moved to a sister property a little distance away and that they were going to upgrade us to a garden facing junior suite. We were staying for one night and were frankly quite tired so we didn't make a fuss about the change and just took it. The place we were moved to is listed as a 'B&B' by Trip Advisor. The front desk indicated that the move was required since they were 'overbooked' and they were trying to promote their sister property. I'd be fine if this was a one-off event and could not have been avoided but it seems several other reviewers had the same issue in the days leading up to our trip...and we saw other travellers being brought to the B&B while we were there. Which leads me to believe that the Antiche Figure was just using their reputation and Trip Advisor rating to serve as a booking front for another property and I think that's unfair on the customer. If the hotel had been honest about this situation ahead of time, we might have booked ourselves at another property - Antiche Figure is certainly not the most economical of available options in the area and I don't think the B&B they moved us to would command the same pricing on its own.

Room Tip: I can't since we never stayed at the property we signed up for

I am compelled to write specifically with regards to the breakfast service at Hotel Antiche Figure. The hospitality offered in all aspects of our stay was beyond compare and my family will be loyal customers in the future. I will describe breakfast, as I had read previous poor reviews on this topic. Here we go: fresh fruit was offered each morning: apples, bananas, grapes, plums; three types of cereal, four flavors of yogurt and plain, two kinds of juice, milk; two types of croissant, breakfast cake, coconut macaroons, chocolate heart cookies, wafer cookies; sliced turkey, ham, cheeses, and salami; small sandwich buns to take away for lunch with the cold cuts and cheese; boiled eggs; cappuccino, café au lait, tea, hot chocolate.
American guests requested "american" coffee and British guests were requesting "toast"; why are their expectations that they will be served the foods and beverages where they came from? The huge volume of boats freighting goods into Venice from the mainland is one aspect that should serve to expand one's world view. Where and why would a hotelier import goods from other countries, when it is enough of a challenge to offer the bounty we had available to us for our breakfast? Ciao!

We stayed for 2 nights on June 29th and 30th. From the moment we checked to the time we checked out, we were treated in a very courteous and friendly manner by the staff. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a fantastic view overlooking the Grand Canal. The vaporetto stop was right over the Scalzi Bridge so getting around Venice was a snap. We had read several comments about the hustle and bustle of the Santa Lucia train station right across the canal but there never was an issue as far as noise or anything else. Overall, it was a "Great Stay" and would consider this hotel hotel.

Just returned from four fabulous days in Venice. This hotel is a real gem. The staff are very attentive and always smiling and happy to help. The room was beautifully decorated and spotless, as was the bathroom. Each day we returned to find a beautifully made up room with treats on each pillow. The position is great as you look over the canal and it is so easy to walk, taxi, boat to anywhere on the island. It was lovely to sit outside with a cocktail watching the world go by. As for the breakfast......I really don't know what people expect when they have left negative comments. There was cereal, yoghurts, fruit, cakes, pastries jams, honey, a variety of cheeses, different meats, boiled eggs, a variety of rolls, juices, tea, coffee, milk and so on. You will not be disappointed if you book this hotel, nothing was too much trouble. BOOK IT!!!

Room Tip: Room 312 overlooking canal with three large windows which made it light and airy and a great view of...
