When I selected this hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary, i did wonder if the comments I read to make my choice were true. And everything was right : from the staff, the location, the room (Junior site on the roof top) and the service, our 3 nights stay was just perfect. Our course Venise is fantastic but when you are happy to go back to your room, meet the hotel staff and enjoy your breakfast is makes things even better. A no brainer to have a great stay.

We stayed at Hotel Antiche Figure for 2 nights, and unfortunately despite the glowing recommendations here, we were extremely underwhelmed with our room.

When we arrived our room wasn't yet ready, and we were told that since we have to wait we can have a free upgrade to one of their suites. Of course we accepted. We didn't know until later that the "suite" was not in the hotel itself, but around the corner and down an alleyway.

The room was extremely small and had a laundry list of issues: the television didn't work properly (we ended up getting one to work ourselves, the other one wouldn't work at all), the room was stuffy and had no air conditioning, it was noisy with the noise from upstairs and in the alleyway (this was also our "view"), and the faucets in the bathroom didn't work well and you couldn't take a shower without water spilling everywhere. The bed was smaller and shorter than most, was extremely hard and also uneven - it dipped in the middle. The wifi also did not work most of the time.

I have a feeling that our experience would have been much different had we stayed in the hotel itself. I would have asked to switch if we were staying for more than a couple of nights.

On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and breakfast in the morning was very good. However we wouldn't stay here again based on our first experience.

We stayed in this hotel the day after our cruise and it was the ideal choice. The staff were excellent and their english was perfect. The rooms were decorated to a very high standard and the breakfast was lovely. The staff recommended the places to visit and how to get there. They even arranged a water taxi and negotiated a discount for us. Will be going back to Venice and will use this hotel again.

Regards
Family of 4.

Room Tip: We had a triple room with an extra bed. there was plenty of room and had a balcony overlooking the G...

Only spent one night at this hotel, prior to joining our cruise. Location was good staff

excellent, very helpful and obliging. As we had a full day to spend in Venice after our

disembarkation from our cruise they very kindly let us store our bags while we went out

exploring which was a great relief for us, allowing us to see a little more of Venice before

our late night flight back to Australia. Would highly recommend this friendly hotel.

As returning guests, we booked a balcony room overlooking the Grand Canal for our three day stay in Venice. Again, the staff were warm, welcoming and went out of their way to assist. It was great to see familiar faces after our last visit two years ago. Thanks Michele, for organising the walking tour with Emanuel around the back blocks of Venice. It was hugely informative and very entertaining. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. If possible, get a room facing the Grand Canal; you can't put a price on the entertainment observed simply from your room. Drinks outside the hotel, weather permitting, are another must. The passing parade of locals, visitors, musicians and tradesmen are a constant source of amusement and entertainment. We would definitely return to this lovely hotel and we hope to get back to Venice again in the the coming years. There's so much yet to explore.

Room Tip: A canal-view room for observing Venetian life

This place is located just across the Grand Canal from the train station , which makes it very easy to get to and get away from and this matters a lot in Venice . We got upgraded for free into a suite at the back and it was wonderful . The bed was a bit hard . The bathroom was very nice with a good shower . The living room was small , of course but big enough . The staff was very helpful . The breakfast was nothing to write home about but it was OK . Price was pretty high but everything in Venice is .

Room Tip: I might not pay the usual 35 Euro to upgrade to the suite but if they offer it for free jump at it...

I am so happy I booked here. It was so easy to find and get to from the train station. Venice is so easy to get lost and confused in by the literal mazes. From the moment we came in we felt very welcomed. We were escorted around the property and to our room and shown how everything worked. Then we were given a map of Venice with places of interest circled and the way to get to them highlighted. Too bad we forgot to take it the 1st day, because we really got lost and wandered around basically in circles! Oh well, Venice is a great place to get lost in and we were not the only one's lost as we noticed. The room was spacious and decorated in what I think of as classic Venetian décor. Very pretty and elegant. The breakfast was nice and Francesca was so cheerful. It rained pretty hard and was windy our 2nd day, went through 2 "tourist" umbrellas, then found out the hotel has them for your use, and they are much better than the ones we bought! Our train didn't leave until well after check out time so they kindly stored our luggage so we could wander around. I sure wish I could remember the young man's name that checked us in so I could give him a shout out, He was so friendly and helpful. If I am ever back in Venice I will stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the very top in a "blue" room with great canal views.
