We were very impressed with this hotel. From wandering around the streets we wondered what we would get but we were impressed the second we walked through the door. Very modern and clean in appearance & friendly reception staff was our immediate thoughts. We were taken to our room & shown all the amenities we may need en route which was helpful. The room was also very lovely, as per the pictures, it wasn't the most spacious room we've stayed in but certainly wasn't small & was also very clean & modern. The breakfast buffet was fantastic & we were spoilt for choice as to what to have...on offer were cakes, croissants, scrambled egg, bacon, toast, cereal, yogurts, juice, coffee, tea & all very nice. Our only grumble would be that we didn't find this hotel easily, we used a google map only to be told when we turned up at another hotel that the map was wrong & we were a good 10 minutes away. Arguably this is our fault & we should've researched harder how to find the hotel but you think you can trust a google map!! This aside location wise this hotel is also very good. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay in Venice - off the beaten track - felt v authentic!
We had been slightly worried by some of the previous comments and having lugged our cases from the station up and over many a bridge were a bit frayed by the time we arrived, but were immediately put at ease by the efficient and friendly welcome. Dont make our mistake - catch the #5 bus from the airport and then the vaporetto from the bus or train station to S. Alvise which leaves only a 5min walk from the hotel. It is in a quiet corner of Venice that seems well away from the tourist hot spots but this is only an advantage as they are all reachable from the vaporetto with ease. The room we had had canal views and views of the neighbours washing which added to the feel that you were truly getting the Venetian experience. The WIFi was broken in the hotel, which was a shame, but these things happen. Nothing was too much for the reception staff who drew helpful notes on a map and almost succeded in persuading our 10y old that he should eat fish. Our room was spotless. Breakfast was good - widely varied continental buffet with bacon and eggs. A nice extra touch was a complimentary drink at the bar on our first night. Overall we'll certainly be back and at the price we paid (Eu 110) for a galleried room (double up top, double sofa bed downstairs) for 2 adults and a 10y old including breakfast we thought it was outstanding value.

Room Tip: Canal rooms with gallery great for families.

Can't remember how many times I've been to Venice (10-15 times), so I know a few hotels there.

When coming to Venice at this time of year you might be blessed with the weather, but you also have to expect it is possible you have to stay in your hotel. So comfort for the "if you can't go outdoors" scenario is a must.

It is a for Venice comfortable hotel with (for Venice) more then average room space, in an exquisite setting/building.
The bathrooms could use a more thorough clean as molds are growing in corners. It is the humid time of the year and the bathroom doesn't have a window or forced air system, so the humidity accumulates.
The rooms are clean and well maintained, with a sizeable bed.
Reading the other reviews regarding noise, the hotel has indeed not been greatly sound-isolated. You can indeed hear the neighbours, which if yours are loud speakers will be disturbing.
We didn't have any heating problems, though the system resets as soon as you take out the power key. Ask reception for a spare one and you're safe.
The breakfast is hugely expensive, but book a rate breakfast inclusive and it is well worth it! Not often you see a quality breakfast buffet in Italy which has a sizeable variety. Since it is not an Italian style breakfast but an actual real breakfast, you should forget their coffee, it is not Italian quality!

The location is a little off the typical tourist tracks, which means it is a quieter, more private area which for someone who knows Venice and walks fast is never more then 10-15 minutes from the highlights. The Vaporetto also stops 3 minutes away from the hotel.

The hotel was a good choice probably in my top 3 for Venice (top 5 for noise if in season the hotel is full), but as I always do when visiting Venice, next time I'll try yet another hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as far away as possible to minimise the noise from the staircase, corridor and neighb...

Very charming hotel but wifi was not available during the whole stay of 3 days. Hotel staff deducted the cost of 1 breakfast because of that. I had not selected a room with breakfast included. Free wifi is only in lobby and bar when available. This hotel is for people that do not mind the walking. It is located in a residential area and yes it could be tricky to find it. You should contact the hotel and insist to have proper directions to get to it. I used the address provided in google map and it could not find it. There is no big sign to indicate that this is a hotel. Room was nice but only one pillow per bed provided - didn't asked for additional ones though. There is a complimentary drink on your day of arrival if you wish to go to the bar.

On a return trip to Venice, and the Residenza Cannaregio, we came across a few problems.

We stayed here about 8 years ago shortly after it had opened and we were very pleased. Cannaregio is a lovely part of Venice and the hotel interior is modern, the staff helpful. However:

The hotel advertises that free WiFi is available in the lobby. It wasn't. This was rather inconvenient because one of our party was expecting a rather important message so we had to use time on our vacation finding somewhere else offering WiFi that did actually offer WiFi. No explanation was given and there was no reduction in our bill for the lack of an advertised service.

The lighting in the rooms is very, very dim. Not a deal-breaker because you won't be spending a huge amount of time in your room when you visit the city but, again, an irritation.

The max heating level was set too low the first night we arrived. It was January, we'd just walked from the Alilaguna stop at Madonna dell'Orto after having waited at the airport for 3/4 of an hour on a freezing night and we really wanted to set the temperature a little higher, just to warm ourselves up. it wasn't possible.

Our walls were paper thin. I don't remember this being a problem last time we visited so perhaps it varies from room to room but we could hear, very well, our neighbours talking at a what was a reasonable volume - in French, and clearly understandable. We were fortunate that they were quiet at night and in the morning but it was a matter of luck.

The bidet in our bathroom wasn't clean when we arrived and hadn't been cleaned by the end of the next day.

When I visit Venice again - and I think most people will at least want to visit again - I think I'll look around for a different hotel, That's a shame.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the canal

We found Residenza Cannaregio on Agoda which has a very reasonable price and we're very surprised with the location. It's located in a very quiet part of Venice, far from the main tourist streets. Staffs are very helpful (we asked our way around, which is the best restaurant etc..), the hotel is almost hidden away which is a nice touch. Our room has a very good view of the canal but the heater is not working which is an disappointment (it's around 0-5 Celsius degrees in Venice during our stay).
Other complain is free wifi only available in the lobby, you need to pay for internet in your room which is only available on cable.
Overall Residenza Cannaregio definitely have my recommendation for whoever want to have a stay in Venice, great place, great room.

I stayed in Eurostars Residenza Cannaregio for two nights, I didn’t expect the hotel to be this good, it’s great for its value, the staff were friendly and helpful, location wasn’t bad at all, I managed not to get lost after a night out, rooms small but very clean, Wi-Fi only in the loopy, wire internet in rooms is available for EUR12 per day, I would stay there again in the future.
