We stayed here for 4 nights and were pleased with our choice. The hotel is in an excellent location in San Marco. Staff are helpful, room was quiet, clean and the beds were comfortable. Bathrooms are shared but were just opposite our room - and we didn't have to wait for people who were using them. Wifi was ok, and the bathrooms were fine for what you needed. In venice you're probably not going to be spending much time in your room when thre is so much to do.

The ice-cream shop directly next door sells amazing white chocolate ice cream - and the Deli has some good, relatively cheap, take away options!

It was a very nice hotel and the staff was very nice and every one of them spoke English. I had a little problem with the bed and I got a new bed. They were very friendly and the location was perfect. I did not eat breakfast so I can’t tell you anything about that. It was clean and perfect for me and my daughter.

It couldn't be worse! Bad service, reception room, badly furnished room and bathroom, disgusting coffe, problems with the entrance,no telephone service,no isolation...and many more negative experiences in this place.I would prefer not to go to Venice rather than staying in this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't choose this hotel.Sleep in a piazza!!!!

Although a shared bathroom hotel, the bathroom does not locate far from the room. Moreover, the bathroom is also big and clean! The room is alright, something expected for its price. The wifi in the hotel is pretty good as well. Overall, not a bad hotel, it is located at a convenient location.

We spent two nights at Hotel San Maurizio. The hotel is centrally located, just 10 min from Piazza San Marco. The staff speak fluent english & are very helpfull. The room was nice & warm & the bathrooms very clean. The maids are constantly cleaning the place. The breakfast which was 10Euros was nice & plentiful.
I recomand this hotel to anyone who is going to Venice. I must also say that the price for the hotel room was a good bargain.

The Hotel San Maurizio is pretty much your typical Italian hotel: it's small, probably family-run, quaint, but warm and welcoming. The room we stayed in was small but it worked out fine as you're pretty much only in your room when you sleep. There was free Wi-fi, and it was fast too. Side note: most restaurants, cafés, etc in Venice do have Wi-fi, you just need to ask for the code. The bathrooms were shared, but there was never a problem with having to wait for others. The staff was very friendly and spoke great English. They were always there even one night when we got back to the hotel around 1am. This hotel is no big, fancy resort, but you won't find that in Venice. It's the perfect place to stay as it's located near many amazing restaurants and upscale shops as well as local shops. It's about a 5 minute walk to St. Mark's square. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a classic Italian hotel experience, but wouldn't recommend it to someone who prefers a more over-the-top, lavish hotel experience.
