“Good hotel, good location”
Reviewed October 8, 2011

We stayed here for one night pre-cruise on Sept 25th. I booked the hotel through booking.com about 9 months in advance for 100euros. I wanted to be in a good location so chose the San Marco area (not thinking I'd be jet lagged and not care where I was for the one night stay!). We took the ATVO bus from the airport to P. Roma for 5euro, then the number 2 vaparetto (fewer stops than the number 1) to San Marco. The hotel's site has a map to print out, but I also wrote down other directions I'd found which were helpful - after getting off the vaparetto, turn left and go over the foot bridge. Take the first right onto calle Vallaresso (Harrys bar will be on your right when you turn), walk straight to the end of the street, turn left and come to a square with the San Moise church on your left. Walk straight over the footbridge and immediately turn left to walk under the portico for the Lisbona Hotel. You'll immediately see signs for the hotel. The rooms were nice and had flat screen tvs. The bathroom was big and had bath gel and soap but no shampoo. Free breakfast was offered at the hotel next door and it offered cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads, meats, coffee, and juices. They also have wifi, but the only thing to note - we asked the first guy at the desk if the hotel had free wifi. He acted like he was pained to do us a huge favor and would give us one hour for free. If you don't log off, the time expires so, in the morning, we had to ask for another password. The man in the morning was super friendly and gave us another password - good for 20hours! Why the first guy was so stingy is beyond me. Overall, it was definitely one of the better hotels I've stayed at in Europe and would stay here again if returning to Venice.

Great location. We found the staff to be very friendly. The room was very small but the bathroom was a decent size. The breakfast was included with the room around the corner at the sister hotel. We were on a Holland America cruise and were quoted 100 euros for a water taxi to the boat, we were able to take the local ferry boat which was close by for 14 euros.

We stayed here for one night before we embarked on a cruise to the Mediterranean (Norwegian Cruise Line - absolutely perfect) and we loved it. First of all it is 2 minutes away from St. Marks square and vaporetto stop, which makes it really convenient, especially if you're carrying heavy luggage. We found the hotel really easily, because we had a map of it from the hotel website. It was really easy to locate.
The room was rather small (but this is very common for Venice - don't expect to find large rooms in hotels, because there simply isn't space for them) but it was exactly what we needed. The bathroom is surprisingly large, with a lot of room, amenities, clean towels. The air conditioning was very good. Also, we received a complimentary bottle of Prosecco wine (0.75 l) and a free trip to Murano, where we visited the glass factory and saw a live show of how Murano glass is turned into great pieces (we saw the man there make a Murano glass horse in 3 minutes - amazing).
The breakfast was one of the best I have had with hot and cold food, pastry, cereals, eggs, cheese, ham and other meat assortments, fruit, juice, coffee, tea.
Would stay here anytime.
We would definitely stay here again because it is a great hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel so centrally located and close to St Mark's Square, classy and comfortable. The air con was excellent for the heat. The receptionist was very friendly and spoke English which was a welcome relief after battling through Rome train stations. The breakfast was included with the room and served at their sister hotel downstairs - it was one of the best we had and even included apple strudel! It is near the gondela stop and we could hear the gondeler's singing as they went past and playing music - it was beautiful and added to the atmosphere of Venice. We would definitely stay here again. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the terrace below which was lovely.

It is very nicely located and the rooms are clean and modern. Our bathroom was awesome and the have good A/C. The breakfast was very good and the staff is courteous. The rooms are a little small for the amount of money we payed. The value to space ratio is not there but I think is is like that all over Venice.

A VERY well travelled friend put together a great cruise on the Adriatic and we stayed here pre departure. As others have said the Location is without peer. The staff was top notch....even insuring that our group was met by water taxi (two blocks away) she personally left the front desk to escort us to the grand canal to make sure we were taken care of. The rooms are a little tired but ours was clean. I am really fussy about bathrooms and this passed muster with flying colors. We put our luxury dollars into the cruise (Seabourn - stunning to say the least!) so we were not expecting much. We only needed to shower and sleep and this place is just fine. Breakfast - served next door at their sister hotel was substantial. The shopping in Venice is fantastic - save your money for that! Would certainly go back for a one or two night stay.

We stayed here a year ago for 1 night. It was much better then the first hotel we stay at in Venice, but again it was nothing special. Everything was pretty clean (except the walls, the wallpaper was dirty and peeling), breakfast was good (hot food, good choices), room was a good size, good location to the square. Overall, I would probably stay here again, it was an average hotel at a good price, its slim picking in Venice since all the hotels are extremely old buildings.
